The sky was turning darker and darker. But not because of the coming night, but the endless slew of far fire, birthing forth a cloud of thick and wide smog. He stood at the center alone. No words. No moves. Just a soul that could stand among the many who had fell, gazing up to try and find one singular ray of light to escape the calamity brought forth. He did not know why everything...looked so familiar. The buildings now turned to rubble. The faces burned to an indistinguishable black. The indomitable rage, sadness, despair and regret. All so, so familiar...yet he was unable to explain anything that was happening. His coming, the familiarities. To him, it was all a mystery.

Snapping out his initial shock, he cried out a few words to his ever growing nightmare...

"What the hell is this? Where am I? What's going on?!"

He muttered to himself, no answers received. And all but every word and every sentence was accompanied by the ever growing flow of tears rolling down his eyes. He knew where he was. He knew the faces that were driven through the mud. But at the same time he did not.

And as his tears stopped rolling, a figure, familiar and most hated, had risen up from the rubble and the ashes. He could not see the face behind the female silhouette but he could most definitely know one key thing about her. He hated her. More than himself. The female figure pulled up her arm, lance at hand, and pointed it directly at him.

"Welcome back.", she said to him. "I hope you remember it. I hope you remember all this.", she chuckled.

"What am I saying...you're too selfish to do so!"

With a thrust of her arm, and her body's entire weight behind the move, she hurdled her lance at him. The impact was enough to turn the boulders and the rubbles of the broken buildings into dust, and turn his will into the surrounding ashes.

He turned his feelings into actions in an instance, grabbing the lance she threw towards him straight back, only for her to be easily able to grab the edge of the weapon with ease.

"Who are you?! What am I doing here?", he yelled.

"I'm the one who's going to kill you...and you're here to suffer.", she swiftly answered both his questions back.

She flipped the edge of her lance and once again grabbed it from its handle. She then jumped directly onto him, pinning him against the ground and stepping on his stomach.

"Tsk. I knew this was all you had to give. Doesn't matter...it's all a dream in the end. But I'll guarantee you this...even when you wake up, even when you think you're safe...I'll kill you. I'll kill you now like I did then. You will pay...you will suffer."

She spoke her words filled with equal amounts of spite and hatred targeted towards him. He was unable to make a single move again. The mere sight of the silhouette above him and the background of the break of dawn behind her had him paralyzed and unable to move. She slowly grabbed her lance with both hands and raised it above his chest.

"Go ahead and wake up. It's far from over...checkmate."

Using all her strength, not giving him a chance to speak, she drove her lance directly through his chest, breaking through both sides and creating cracks to the ground he laid on behind him.

A gruesome scene come to an end, he could catch a glimpse of how it all went down, as he felt his body leaving him behind, lightly ascending to a light above. Was it over? It was...or rather, it was going to. All he could do is watch, a transient in his own mind.

His eyes now wide open, he greeted the world as did himself. Emotionless, cold. Despite what he saw and felt...his awakening included nothing like the unusual. He was already used to it...
