Devin Edwards is an ordinary farm kid, just trying to keep up with his chores and survive 1980s high school life in rural Oregon. He works hard, reads whatever nerdy books he can get his hands on, and still manages to bench-warm as third-string linebacker on the football team. Until, one fateful night, he has a very strange out-of-body experience which turns his ordinary life upside down.  Following the experience, Devin begins having odd, lucid dreams. Nightly, he finds himself immersed in a dungeon-crawling game that seems suspiciously like one he played with his buddies in the school's computer lab. The game always ended with his character’s death, and so too go the dreams. He will have to look deep within himself to understand the nature of this mystery and maintain his sanity--as breaking from this recurring dream gauntlet is just the beginning of an incredible discovery that has the potential to change not only Devin's world, but everyone’s.
