Eighty years ago, humanity underwent a sudden transformation. Incredible superpowers emerged, seemingly out of nowhere, and with them, the countdown to the apocalypse began. Humanity was not ready for such a change. Men became monsters, and the full horror of humanity's evil was unleashed. Society collapsed, and with it, billions of souls were sent screaming to their graves by apocalyptic forces beyond their imagination. Bio-engineered horrors and plagues were created, weapons of mass destruction were launched en-masse, psychotic maniacs butchered entire cities, and many more. Now, as the dust settles, all that remains are ruins and lost souls, too powerful to die and yet too weak and afraid to rebuild, roaming the world they themselves helped destroy. That should have been the end of it. A cautionary tale about power and change. And yet, such was not to be, as the most powerful man left in the world had forged a plan, one that would allow him and many others to survive. He would build a portal, one capable of crossing the dimensional barrier itself, and through it, lead them to a new, untouched world, where they could rebuild their lives and society in peace. This is the story of these survivors, of how they escaped, and of whether history would repeat itself.
