When Cyrilo, a young boy trapped in an abusive home, wakes up to the horror of seeing his mother, the kindest and the gentlest soul he knew severely injured by his abusive father, he is overcome with rage and guilt. After his father leaves, he resorts self-harm out of rage, only to come to his senses when he accidentally hurts his sister. Afraid to become the same person his father was, Cyrilo runs away from the house, as far as he could, as far as his body would let him go. Soon, he finds himself in the middle of a forest, when he finds the sound of metal approaching him, but he is too tired to bother, and simply closes his eyes, falling asleep.
