Solomon, a mixed Black/Korean teenager, was just seven when America splintered into red and blue zones. Years later, after getting forcibly drafted into a red zone militia, he's driven solely by one goal: protect his little sister, Adah. This compels him to not only endure grueling training in a racially hostile crucible, but also to carry out a perilous undercover mission deep inside a blue zone. The mission's unexpected derailment sees him imprisoned in a blue zone re-education camp. Forced into an alliance with his abusive ex-drill instructor, Solomon must race against time to escape. His choices teeter on a knife's edge, shaping not just his fate but also that of Adah who is confronting her own oppression back in their red zone home.  As the window for rescue narrows, Solomon and Adah must overcome the harrowing reality of a nation divided, or risk being forever separated by the insurmountable boundaries that have come to define their world.
