Chapter 51: Return to consciousness

The severing of Caspian Hond’s subordinates’ bodies and the sudden awakening of Julius from his fainting spell, now standing upright holding the Sword of Dark Demons that was previously in the hands of the opponent intending to attack Master Lin, was witnessed by everyone present. The incident happened so quickly and was very difficult to follow with ordinary sight. Only a few masters could see it, and even then, it wasn’t very clear because the event unfolded so rapidly.

Master Lin Duano briefly saw a figure of light moving very swiftly towards the demon sect member who intended to finish him off. Unexpectedly, the figure of light turned out to be Julius himself, who was hoped to awaken and regain consciousness. And indeed, the young man brought about miracles once again.

It’s not easy to defeat a cultivator who is in the realm of semi-gods, even if the fight is conducted by individuals of the same cultivation level. Especially if it’s done by someone in the realm of heavenly spirits, it’s certainly an event that seems impossible. Yet, right before their eyes, the event unfolded. It was impossible for their eyes to deceive them.

Julius himself hadn’t actually regained consciousness. In his upright position, his eyes remained closed. What rose at that moment was none other than the spirit of the divine light within his body. His physically weakened state caused the divine spirit within Julius’s body to awaken without his body regaining consciousness. In other words, at that moment, only Julius’s spirit was awakened, while his mind and other parts of his body remained unconscious.

The most surprised by the incident was Caspian Hond, the Right Wing Commander of the Demon Sect. He never expected his subordinate to be killed in one fell swoop. What astonished him even more was the perpetrator who emitted the power of light elements but was still in the realm of heavenly spirits at the seventh level.

“Who is this kid really? Why can he awaken the light element with such a low cultivation level?” Caspian Hond wondered in his still astonished heart, observing Julius’s condition. “Kill that kid, everyone!” commanded the Right-Wing Commander of the Demon Sect again.

Inside the Protective Shield that protected the members of the academy of the Tower of the Gods hidden behind it, there was also commotion witnessing the events before them. Many speculated about what was happening. Some even thought that Julius was a high-level cultivator disguised within the Tower of the Gods.

“The one fighting isn’t the boy named Julius! There’s someone possessing his body. Can’t you see his eyes are still closed? He’s actually still unconscious,” Magnus Raven informed everyone nearby.

Magnus Raven’s words were clearly heard by the members of the Tower of the Gods academy present. They were also heard by Caspian Hond, who was at that moment ordering his three remaining subordinates to finish off Julius. What Magnus Raven said was more acceptable to him than what he had seen earlier. He warned his subordinates to be careful because the person possessing their opponent might have a cultivation level higher than theirs.

“Chairman, do you have any idea who might be behind the boy’s body? Isn’t it possible that his abilities, sometimes impossible for someone like him, are guided by that person?” asked Master Rylan, curious.

“I don’t know, I can only speculate. What I said earlier might be true, or it might be wrong. But we don’t need to dwell on it too much. Right now, we need to find a way to help him face his opponent. He might handle the four enemy aides easily, but not with someone like Caspian Hond. In his hands, there’s a Sword of Light that is very powerful, and there has never been any weapon in the universe that can defeat that sword,” said the chairman of the Tower of the Gods Academy with a slightly subdued tone.

Everyone fell silent, no longer daring to discuss Julius, who had caused quite a stir in the Tower of the Gods Academy. Especially now that the battle between Julius and Caspian Hond’s subordinates had begun. It was an incredibly exciting and tense fight, a top-class battle ever seen in the cultivator world.

Caspian Hond’s three subordinates themselves were now more cautious of Julius. Especially when their initial attacks clashed with the Sword of Dark Demons in Julius’s hands, they felt pain because of the sheer force of the collision. They realized at that moment that their opponent wasn’t fighting with the energy derived from their own spiritual defense, but rather from the light element, renowned as the highest-level element among all elemental forces.

Julius’s movements were incredibly fast. Several times he almost finished off his enemies, but whenever his sword strikes were about to hit, his other friends would always protect the target. This allowed the enemies to withstand Julius’s onslaught, although they were also struggling. Meanwhile, Julius himself became anxious as the power of his light element weakened. This was because his physical body was gradually approaching consciousness.

The enemies also felt the weakening force of Julius’s attacks. They took advantage of this to prolong the time until Julius’s strength was completely depleted, making it easy for them to finish him off. They preferred to avoid Julius’s attacks rather than face them head-on.

Julius realized that the enemy was changing their tactics. Aware of the disadvantage he would face once his body regained consciousness, as his strength would diminish, Julius intensified his attacks. However, the cunning enemies continued to evade and scatter.

Crack!

“Ahhh!”

Only one person managed to wound Julius. He succeeded in severing his opponent’s arm but failed to kill him. Meanwhile, Julius’s condition continued to weaken, causing him to finally be thrown to the ground. Julius regained consciousness quite far from where his enemies were positioned. He now had to accept the fact that the light element that had previously emanated from his body had disappeared.

“Ouch!”

The Sword of Dark Demons slipped from Julius’s grasp. He winced as he felt the malevolent aura of the sword. After the disappearance of his light element, he could no longer control the sword. Seeing this, Julius’s enemies were confident that the young man was no longer being possessed by the mysterious figure they had assumed was helping him.
