When preparing to launch his favorite game, Bifrost, Takao Souta suddenly falls unconscious. Some time passes and he wakes up, not in his apartment, but in the game as his in-game character, Umbra. He soon finds that his NPCs have become sentient, and the world is not the Bifrost he knows, it is overtaken by monsters. Confronted with this abnormal situation, Takao Souta, aka Umbra commands his subordinates to investigate and take control of Bifrost, with the hopes of figuring out what has caused this development and whether he can return to his real world.
