Synopsis
He used to solve all his problems with his axe. Now, he’s solving for x.
With greataxe in hand, Korg, son of Gorth, sets forth for Aethergarde Academy, ready to put his life on the line against a terrible beast to prove his worth to his clan. Yet, what can one barbarian do against a foe that can be wounded neither by steel nor magic? How can axe and fist fell a foe that veils itself beyond the realm of reality? What even is a conjecture, anyway?
With his warrior’s spirit and rage as his primary weapons, Korg navigates the bizarre world of the southern mages, attending classes, deciphering cryptic tomes and braving forgotten crypts in search of clues that would enable him to unravel an age-old problem of arcane theory and achieve his warrior's glory. Caught in the middle of a web of newfound rivalries, tumultuous politics, treacherous alliances, and deadly secrets, Korg must learn to traverse these new unfamiliar battlefields, all while uncovering the weaknesses of this foul ‘Aethergarde Conjecture’ and gathering allies to assist him with his quest.
It is a daunting task, but as the mages themselves claim – given sufficient time, any problem can be solved through the brute force approach.
What to expect:
- Corny humour overly relying on excessive literal interpretations
- Fantasy university covering make-believe fields of magic, history, and alchemy, with various real-world inspirations
- A conference arc replacing the usual tournament arc (eventually; hopefully). Seriously, that’s the only reason why I started writing this.
- No jokes about Abelian groups!
