In a universe of massive magical empires and smaller technological ones; Vessa is a useful tool. An assassin who none can stop, magical or otherwise. After messing up an assignment, she is sent into one of the tech empires that still knows nothing of magic. All of which might change if a rebelling planet succeeds in bringing to light both the wonders and evils of magic to the tech empire it has found a home in.
