An online, fully-immersive world of greed and guns awaits Silky, now that he's finally saved up enough for the hardware.  He joins his friends for some portal hopping, lead slinging, loot grabbing fun — but quickly learns that his plans to rise through the ranks and gain the developers' attention won't survive first contact with the enemy. The stakes are high, the pain is real, and the most dominant clans in Meta Mercs have a year-long head start on Silky and his team of nobodies.  Can putting together the perfect builds help get them on the leaderboard? Silky hopes so, but an opportunity to leave them behind to join an established clan makes him wonder if the road to ruin is paved with ambition.
