Synopsis
Long ago, humans made a choice between the unpredictability of Magic or the controlled practicality of Technology.
Plumamentia differs from its neighbouring continents in that it chose the former.
Now, hundreds of years later, magic has been, to some degree, understood. Mages have a Primary Magic and, after reaching a certain proficiency with it, a Secondary Magic alongside.
The story follows Livia Houston, who has the Primary Magic of Healing, unnaturally gifted compared to other Healers. With her teacher, Hamish Bernard mauled by the summons of malcious mages, Livia has been assigned her own pupil of whom to teach the subtleties of Magic. But her relationship with Hamish was more than that of Teacher and Student, and her heart still pines for her lost love.
As her actions grow darker and her motives more uncertain, it becomes apparent to her fellows she has done something, and the questions are borne: has she revived Hamish, what has she done to do so, and just what is her Secondary Trait?
