Plague of the Ashen Soul – Synopsis
In the depths of Brynshale’s ancient forests, the village of Hallowglen teeters on the edge of ruin. A mysterious plague has taken hold, twisting the infected into hollow, mindless husks and birthing creatures of rot that prowl the night. Called by fate rather than duty, Kalenor Thalarrin, a Scalesworn of Morbitral, arrives in the beleaguered village only to find that the sickness defies natural decay—it festers with a will of its own, corrupting both body and Essentaria alike.
Determined to slow the spread, Kalenor battles exhaustion and dwindling resources to craft medicine and reinforce the village’s defenses. But as the nights stretch on, the infection grows more insidious, revealing horrors beyond mere disease. The infected whisper in tongues long dead, and the land itself recoils from the blight. When a cloaked figure appears at the edge of the woods—its presence heralding monstrous abominations—Kalenor is forced to confront the unsettling truth: this is no ordinary plague.
With time slipping away and the village’s survival uncertain, Kalenor finds an unexpected ally in Lyra Emberheart, a Scalesworn of Ignisaros, whose fire-wielding strength stands in stark contrast to his morbid resilience. Together, they must uncover the origins of the plague and the true purpose of the enigmatic figure lurking in the mist. But as the corruption deepens, so too does the mystery behind its source—one that threatens not just Hallowglen, but the very balance of life and death in Brynshale.
The battle for Hallowglen has begun, but in the face of an affliction that steals both flesh and soul, will strength and conviction be enough?
