All mortals are destined to die. That is unless they shed their mortal coil and transcend to Godhood. Malum lives just like anyone else in his village. A boring and mundane life every commoner is destined to lead. His Uncle had always been strange though, and when he finally snaps he learns that the world around him is not nearly as boring as it seems. He will have to endure many trails and tribulations to answer his questions, to succeed in his goals. Great power is possible, but Malum will need to use everything he has to capture the chances the Dao provides. Will he follow his fate, or will he break what is possible and carve a path of his own?  Malum will either get what he wants, or he will die trying. - - - Notices Think Reverend Insanity setting, bit of its power system mixed with classic martial arts and wizardry. It works, about as much as any good fiction power system can.  Pov changes are used commonly (1 every 3 chapters ish) to breath more life into the story. Side characters are important and they each have their own story. Death is extremely common, especially early in the novel. Should be split into 6 volumes, with around 1 or 2 k chapters with 2 words in them. I have roughly planned most it, but will need to take a break each volume to iron them out.
