Synopsis
Once upon a time, there was a world where there was so little magic, its people built technologies to survive, to fight, to develop their cities, ultimately to reach out to space. A thousand years ago, a cataclysmic war ended those young dreams of exploration, and not long afterwards, magic returned, and humanity reclaimed the myriad forms it had once taken in the age of myth.
Far above the Ascended World, a seemingly tiny metal and glass mote is the gateway of those people who wish to explore onward and upward, and a young carabao-folk photojournalist begins the self-appointed, sacred task of recording the stories of those who live, work, and travel though the Ascended People's greatest space nexus: New Yamato. In discovering that which is beyond our earthly grasp, may we also take the time to rediscover ourselves.(Inspired, of course, by Humans of New York.)
