Chapter 14: Stage One

Chapter 14: Stage One

After logging out, I noticed that my parents were about to arrive home from work and as always, I started to cook the food, today I chose to make spaghetti bolognese, a nice and easy dish to make after hours upon hours of killing monsters and 10 times better than just eating the pot noodle.

Part way through making it my parents came home, so I greeted them.

"Welcome home." I would always welcome them home with a huge smile on my face.

"What are you making today?" My parents could smell the aroma coming from the kitchen.

"Spaghetti Bolognese, want to try some?" I walked into the room with some sauce in a dish and a spoon.

Although it wasn't quite ready yet, I could still let them try a small amount, I would also be able to figure out what they like and don't like.

"I'll wait." My dad refused, I could see that he was hungry, but just didn't want to spoil his appetite.

I walked to my mother and handed the dish and spoon to her.

"Tell me if you like and if you want anything added, nows the best time to say." The fact that it wasn't fully ready meant that I could easily add some herbs, vegetables, etc. to it.

"It tastes great, thank you for making the meals the past couple of days." After saying that she pushed the dish back into my hands.

I walk back into the kitchen and finish making the dish.

...

15 minutes later.

I had finished the dish and put it on a plate and gave everyone a fork and a spoon and we started to eat the meal.

We peacefully ate the meal.

When we finished I took all the washing up, went to the kitchen and washed all the dishes.

After finishing the washing up, I walked back towards my bedroom and went on my computer and looked at the forums for Pandora.

Many people were offering tips for starting out

10 Reasons to start as a Warrior!

Why playing life classes is better than the actual game.

Easy ways to earn gold.

After browsing the various forums for 2 hours, I went to sleep.

...

8 Hours later and I woke up.

It was 7:00 AM.

I went for a shower, then I walked into the kitchen and poured myself a drink before drying my hair.

After finishing my drink, I walked back to the capsule and got in.

...

"Welcome back, are you ready for my trail?" I had yet to figure out where and who this voice actually came from, but I agreed instantly.

"Yes." It had already forced me to accept the quest, it wasn't like it was going to say 'You can leave if you want'.

After accepting it teleported me to the first stage.

...

It looked like a normal village, everything was the same as the beginner village I started in.

The sky was blue without a cloud in sight, all the houses were made from wood with thatched roofs.

Even the NPCs looked exactly the same as those from the beginner village, the only difference being that they all had no information, when I used Identify nothing could be seen.

Name: ???? Level: ???? Health: ???? Attack: ???? Defence: ????

I walked around the village and found out nothing.

No one would answer when I spoke to them, they didn't even move around when I walked passed them, if I was standing in their way, they would actually continue walking and when they fall down, they just stand back up and continue walking, I could tell that this would be troublesome.

Not knowing if he would respond, I asked: "So what do I need to do in this trial?"

"Some of the villagers may have a quest if you talk to them." He voice sounded out from beyond the horizon.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

'Really...' I thought something was wrong with him, after all that walking around none of the villagers were responding, so I went to one of the only places I hadn't been in and that was the village elders house, after all, I had already seen the village elder earlier on and even he didn't respond to me.

Walking into the village elders house, I noticed someone who wasn't inside the beginner village and that was the 'Village Elders Wife'.

"Hello, do you happen to have a task for me?" I asked, which seemed to have startled her.

"Yes, have you noticed this village? It wasn't always like this, it used to be thriving, but now the villagers never talk with each other, they don't even notice anything anymore, as if there's a plague over the heads of the villagers. Can you find out what is wrong with the villagers?" She looked at me as if there was nothing left in this village.

I looked into her eyes and saw a slight glimmer of hope.

The Village Elders Wife has asked you to find out what is happening with the villagers.

Quest rank: ????

Rewards: ????

Do you wish to accept this quest?

"Yes."
