Synopsis
In this second volume of Paladin to Demon Lord Ivan continues down the left hand path doing what he believes is necessary to make the world right again, but he is more than outmatched. He needs power, he needs to advance his skills and abilities, and master what little magic he managed to claim on his own.
Together with his friends, bound together by an Oath of Revenge, they have chosen to take on the dangerous upper levels of the Old Oak Dungeon. Yet the army of light is still nearby, and has yet to release the prisoners of war taken weeks before. Thomas, the Hero of Light, has seen Ivan now, and sensed the rage that has kindled with him. Surely Ivan will have to deal with him before long, and before the God of Light can manage to take away yet more from Ivan or the countless who followed Istania.
The Fate, an oracle and manipulator of time and chance is still at large, somewhere far away, but has already interfered in Ivan's life at least once. Ivan must grow stronger to resist her, to fight against Theadus, to kill Thomas, and to reclaim the peace his future once promised. Will advancing through the dungeon at breakneck speed be enough? Or will Ivan have to take more desperate steps to get the power he needs to not only defend himself, but to push Theadus and his forces back?
