The Kirizama, a planetary assault vessel carrying thousands of insectoid soldiers experiences resistance as it enters low orbit around the world called Monsoon. KZ-0771 is one such insectoid soldier, armed to the teeth and ready to take on a world. When the Kirizama is hit by defensive fire from the planet, KZ-0771 and its fellow soldiers are forced to make an emergency exit in low orbit. These troops make planetfall all over the continent below; however, when KZ-0771 awakens from its landing it is unable to locate any of its fellows. Hunted and alone, KZ-0771 must complete its objective or die trying: Subjugate the planet.  On that same continent, Sierra and her cargo robot, Gravis, make a living colonising worlds. They've just had the most successful months of their lives establishing small outposts all along the Searing Wind desert. Ready to collect their payment after months of hard work, the two travel across the desert to the city of Lichten to collect their payment when they come across an ancient enemy.
