The Windslow Magic Academy was a six-year full-time boarding school situated on a floating piece of rock ten thousand feet above ground, providing magic education to ten thousand or so students. The student government's winter general election is on the horizon, a time of great power instability when even the drop of a hair pin could trigger an avalanche of disaster. Horse Shang is a foreign student coming from a cultural background completely void of magic, someone who is content with being a nobody and lived his school life in boring but nonetheless secured peace. Hawk Joneswood, on the other hand, is a local insider with vast connection and knowledge of the school's political landscape, and an activist with an unmoving objective of toppling the school's long standing power hegemony, a well-established gang named the Ed.  Two unrelated protagonists with their own journey and story to tell have no idea that they together will make that drop of a hair pin; the halcyon view of the Windslow Academy will soon be consumed by a madness so great, none have even the slightest idea that they are already in its maw.
