When a Demon Lord arises to menace the World, a [Hero] will arise to oppose him and throw him down.  That is the way of the World, and thus has it ever been since Kelos the Lifespark built the [System] to uplift and protect his children. When the latest [Hero] meets a tragic death just as the Demon Lord begins his ascension, though, a band of adventurers must confront the demonic hordes without the protection and leadership that a [Hero] would traditionally afford, at least until Kelos sends them a new one.
