Synopsis
Serafall is a world of magic, monsters, and ancient power, but it is also a world steeped in inequality and oppression. In this vast land, the weak suffer under the rule of the strong, the powerful aristocracy vile for more power, and the Empires that control vast territories want even more lands. Racial discrimination runs rampant, with elves, humans, and demi-humans segregated into rigid social classes. Those of mixed blood, such as half-elves, and demi-humans, and anyone who has no money live at the very bottom, some of them often enslaved, with no hope for a better future.
In this world, Indra Raina, a 28-year-old accountant from the US, dies in a tragic accident while on a mundane business trip. His soul is inexplicably cast into the body of Axel, a half-elf who has lived a life marked by suffering. Axel was born to an Elf slave who served Count Makinzie Alrest of the Alrest fiefdom, and spent most of his life enduring hardship and being a plaything for the ladies of the house until one fateful day when Count Alrest and his Knights were slain by a devastating monster attack during a hunting excursion in the outskirts of the fiefdom. Being one of the servants that accompanied the Count his body was battered and broken but he was still alive, he was saved by a group of demi-human beast folks who had been living on the fringes of society. They nursed him back to health, not out of kindness, but out of necessity.
In the lawless lands beyond the borders of City walls, every life has value if it can be used to serve a purpose. These demi-humans, accustomed to living in the shadows and persecuted, taught Rylian the art of survival—how to fight with both sword and magic, how to stay hidden, and how to hunt, and how to never trust those in power.
Though initially confused and disoriented by his transmigration, Indra—now inhabiting Axel’s body quickly adapts. His former life as a white-collar worker and the luxuries of life are a distant memory, but the traits that defined him as a methodical, strategic thinker remain intact. As he begins to understand the magic and fighting techniques of his new world, he realizes that he has the potential not just to survive.. But to change everything. Axel’s body may be that of a slave, but Indra’s mind, honed by years of problem-solving in a corporate world, is far more capable than his new identity would suggest.
This story blends elements of fantasy, political intrigue, and assassin-style adventure in a world where magic and power are both literal and symbolic. Axel’s journey from a corporate worker to a revolutionary leader is an exploration of how one person can change the course of history, even in a world stacked against them.
