After planning it for weeks, Cyrrho and Sark find more than they were planning to steal when they come into posession of a dragon egg. In order to improve their chances of escaping their current lifestyle, they hope to use the resultant lizard for protection in the dangerous world they live in. Little do they know how much the hatching of this dragon sets in motion: a game between the gods, a fight for power between nobles, and the persistance of magic in their world are now all dependent on their actions.
