When the freedom that comes with a 9-to-5 job runs dry, Marcie, a thirty year old proofreader at a publishing company, no longer knows what to do with herself. Overwhelmed by all the options she has, she goes on a late night walk and stumbles across a promotional event for Otherworld - a role playing virtual reality game. Swayed by the pretty character designs, the lucky bag thrust into her arms by an over-enthusiastic worker and the desire to make something of herself, even if it's not in the real world, she decides to give the game a try.
