Synopsis
All gunslingers of Gilead must prove their worthiness to carry their father's guns: before securing that honor, they engage in ritual combat with their own instructor to prove that they remember the face of their fathers.
Daniel Bryne has forgotten the face of his father, and must be sent out into the world without those guns.
Those like him who fail in their test often find themselves folded into the growing army of a rebel known widely as the Good Man, but Daniel knows better than to sully himself further. Instead, he nurtures a meager existence out in the northeasterly town of Deepwood, clinging to what honor he has left.
That is, until a ghost of the past pays a visit, sending him on a journey that may well concern the fate of existence itself.
