A Prisoner's Ransom

A Prisoner's Ransom

13th Century Unknown Place;

The warrior was walking in a dark forest that embraced the night and the cold of winter, while the snow continued to fall heavily. The wind was shaking the tree branches, making it feel like it was singing with a faint whisper. The warrior noticed a dark entrance that appeared between the trees ahead as he walked in this silent forest.

He decided to go in there for now to avoid the cold. This cave-like entrance was engraved with strange symbols, these symbols carried the traces of a language he had never seen before. As soon as the warrior stepped into the mysterious cave, he was confronted with a dark and cold atmosphere that surrounded him.

His eyes immediately noticed a staircase that was lit by a dim light inside the cave. The warrior, who was on guard against any possibility, had to know what was there. As he went down the stairs, he passed through a narrow passage and found himself in a large basement. There were old books and worn-out maps on the walls. The shelves were filled with historical objects and mysterious potions. The atmosphere felt like time had stopped here.

As the warrior wandered in the depths of the basement, he heard whispers and faint grults hidden in a corner ahead. He quickly moved and headed towards the direction of the sound. He noticed a man who was chained and standing helplessly in a corner. The man's face was marked with harsh living conditions and painful memories.

The thing that surprised the invader the most was the creatures around the man. They looked like wolves with human appearance.

The werewolves were watching over this man they had captured in the depths of the basement. The warrior wanted to stay away from this situation, but he did not know the time period he came to, so he thought he needed the help of a human, but before he could even put his plan into action, the advanced wolves turned their heads to where the warrior was with their strong sense of smell.

As soon as the warrior felt the attention of the werewolves, he prepared himself and looked around. These human-like wolves were approaching with angry and greedy eyes. The warrior quickly drew his sword and took a defensive position. The fierce and wild eyes of the werewolves around him showed that the warrior had to be careful.

Turning the first attack into an opportunity, the warrior quickly moved towards a werewolf and swung his sword with a sharp movement and brought it down on the attacker. The other werewolves started to attack more angrily. The warrior avoided the attacks with a combination of agility and strength and went on counterattacks.

This fight in the depths of the basement was watched through the eyes of the captive man. He needed his help, but first he had to fight the werewolves.

As the war continued, the number of werewolves decreased gradually. However, the warrior was also tired.

The warrior was standing breathlessly. He had resisted the attacks of the werewolves, but his strength was exhausted. However, the last werewolf was also defeated and the basement was silent again. The warrior, realizing that the surroundings were safe, walked towards the captive man.

The captive man could not hide his surprise and gratitude in his eyes when he saw the warrior approaching. However, the warrior wanted to make sure that the surroundings were safe before talking.

He held his sword protectively and approached the captive man. He cut the chains and freed him. The man wanted to thank the warrior, but the warrior raised his hand and made a be quiet sign. He wanted to check if there was still any danger around.

They waited quietly for a while. The natural sounds of the forest replaced the restlessness left by the werewolves. The warrior shook his sword and put it on his back, then looked into the eyes of the captive man. But he was still silent.

Finally, he thought they had reached a safe area and turned to the captive man. "What were those creatures," the warrior said.

The captive man answered the warrior with a tired voice: "We call those creatures oxsus. They were enchanted by an evil wizard. Actually, they were all ordinary animals before."

The warrior thought that his next prey was the wizard and read the name on his list to the man.

"Is this man's name Mitron?"

The man was surprised by the name he heard, but he still gave the answer: "Yes, that's his name. But how do you know?."

The warrior ignored the surprise and replied coldly.

"It doesn't matter how I know it. I just need to know where he is."

The man, feeling indebted to the person who saved him, directly shared the idea that came to his mind.

"I can take you to him, and repay you for saving me. But we need to stop by somewhere first."
