A Father's Despair

A Father's Despair

The warrior and the mysterious man who came out of the depths of the forest walked silently for a while longer. At that moment, the warrior wanted to know a few more things about the mysterious man. Because every step brought the possibility of encountering an unknown truth. That's why he asked the man.

"Why were you in the basement?"

The mysterious man looked into the warrior's eyes for a moment before answering his question. Then he took a deep breath and said:

"The reason I was in the basement was to look for a few potions, I wasn't there with bad intentions."

"Did you get the potions for your sick wife?"

"No, for my daughter, but how did you guess that? I mean that I did it for someone?"

"Only sacrifice makes a coward brave."

The stranger didn't wanted to say anything to the invader and kept talking,

"She caught the disease of the green creatures that came from the south and are extinct, and I'm trying to heal her with the potions I have."

The warrior realized from this conversation and the information he received that time was moving further.

"I understand," he replied, the warrior.

From that point on, they arrived at the mysterious man's house. The mysterious man opened the door of the house and invited the warrior inside. The inside of the house was filled with magical potion ingredients and old books. The warrior examined the surroundings in a focused silence, while the mysterious man's daughter was lying in bed in a weak state.

The dim light of the room made the disease marks on the young girl's face more pronounced. The warrior felt the sad atmosphere in the room and approached the young girl. The girl's eyes had a pale glow due to fatigue and illness. The mysterious man looked at the warrior with a sad smile and said:

"I'm doing my best for her in this tough process. But the effect of the potions decreases over time, and I haven't been able to find a complete cure for this creature's disease."

As the warrior saw the girl lying sick, he remembered his wife who died of the disease, as if the girl's situation was the same as his wife's. That's why the warrior wanted to ask the man.

"What are the symptoms of the disease?"

"Cold, high fever, sudden fainting, vomiting, body shivering and the most obvious one is the purple color of the veins in the body."

The symptoms were exactly the same as the warrior's dead wife, which meant that the warrior could find a cure for his dead wife, but the warrior couldn't understand how such a disease could infect his wife nor this little girl. The warrior put aside this thought for now and focused on his situation.

The warrior looked at the girl kindly as he stood by her side. The young girl's face had a hopelessness, but the warrior's eyes had a determination.

"Is there no way?"

The father, who gave his daughter the potion he made, continued to talk to the warrior.

"Actually, there is a treatment method, but I need the potions that the wizard has and they are in a very difficult place to find."

"Is the wizard also in the place where the potions are?"

"Yes, that's his area."

The warrior could now easily understand why the mysterious man helped him. The mysterious man did all this for his sick daughter. The warrior did not want to interfere with people's special situations, but in this case both sides were in need to do something,

"Where can I find him?"

"That's not so easy. He lives under the northern lights and the only way to pass those lights is the heart of the barbaric white tiger." The mysterious man's voice was loaded with seriousness.

"Is that tiger also an oxsus?"

"Much more than that, a creature that has adapted with magic power. He thinks like a warrior and fights like an animal."

The warrior frowned, trying to process this information while making a plan.

"I'll deal with the animal, can you get us through there?"

The mysterious man nodded his head with a thoughtful expression. "Yes, but this is very dangerous, he has never been defeated before and what you want is suicide."

"Leave the animal's job to me, take your daughter to a safe place and then meet me wherever you want."

The mysterious man's eyes were filled with curiosity and concern for the warrior. He took a deep breath and focused on the warrior's eyes and asked: "Why do you want to do this, warrior?"

The warrior paused for a moment, then answered firmly: "It doesn't matter. When you finish the potion, you will make one for me too and I will confront the wizard."
