A Brother In Peril

A Brother In Peril

After explaining her plans in detail to Richie, Captain Grace gave a decisive order without wasting any time.

"Get the men ready, co-captain. I want to see everyone at the venue."

The vice-captain moved quickly to gather the men and prepare the weapons. The Warrior and Captain Grace made their way to the island's restaurant-style structure and stepped inside, attracting curious stares from the crew. The chubby man was waiting for them in the square.

Captain Grace had decided to hold a meeting to share her plan with her men and motivate them. While evaluating the current situation, she explained her intention to start a rebellion against the emperor with the help of the Warrior. The crew seemed ready to support the brave initiative.

During the meeting, they discussed their plans on how to act under Captain Grace's leadership. The captain stated her plan directly, putting an end to everyone's thoughts.

"Our plan is quite simple: We will sneak into the headquarters to get my ship back, then we will attack in the Karun circle with the ship."

As the name of the circle was heard, a tension was felt among the crew. One of the members of the crew stepped forward and objected to the situation.

"No one has ever come out alive from the Karun region. This is suicide."

The Warrior repeated his question with curiosity.

"Karun region?"

The chubby man spoke to explain the matter.

"According to the legend, those who fight in that area of the sea face disaster. Storms break out, the surroundings are filled with creatures."

The captain continued to speak, taking this situation into account.

"The emperor did not go alone. How can we deal with at least five navy ships? This is the only and most logical way to do it."

The captain continued to speak to motivate them.

"Where did your fighting spirit go? We knew we would die when we left Puruz island, but look where we are. As long as we are one, there is nothing we can't do. Who is with me?"

The chubby man also supported his captain by agreeing with his words.

"The captain is right, we are the crew of Lady Lovibond. Who can stand against us?"

With this motivation, everyone in the crew shouted in support of the captain. It seemed that the captain had managed to convince them. The fact that the persuasion time was so short was proof that the crew trusted the captain completely and the warrior was aware of it.

The crew, fired up by Captain Grace's words, started preparations. Each of them came together to return to the ship and head towards the Karun circle. The captain was thinking that everything was going well, while her eyes were looking for someone missing.

"Vice-captain, do you know where Samuel is?"

Trying to answer the captain's question with anxiety, Richie was trying to explain that the situation was not very good.

"Well, Captain, the news is not very good."

After a short explanation, the captain responds to the vice-captain with strong surprise and anger.

"What do you mean he went to the snake island!?"

"We didn't want to bring it up right away because he came in wounded, and we thought you might know about it."

"And you came to that assumption without making sure about it twice for goodness's sake? How do you allow that?"

"Captain, believe me, I didn't know about the incident. He only shared it with Jack, he said he had a treasure map in his hand. When he told me, it was too late for everything."

"How long has he been gone?" said Grace with anger, rubbing her eyeballs with her hands.

"Two days with today."

Regardless of the unexpected situation about the crew, and Grace's sudden outburst, The warrior is seemingly unconcerned and does not want to spoil the plan. So quickly makes sure they know what he thinks,

"One person's absence does not spoil our plan."

But just as his decision is firm, Captain Grace doesn't back down regardless who she talks to,

"I can't leave him there, he's my brother. And his steering is as good as mine. We can't afford to lose such a great power in war."

"We don't have time to save him. Judging by the name of the island, I assume the island is full of snakes, so even if you go, he is likely to be dead."

The first mate agrees with the warrior;

"Yes, unfortunately that island is full of snakes."

The captain, objecting to what the warrior said, expresses that she does not want to leave her brother alone on that island.

"He's my brother. You can't ask me to leave him to die like that. Maybe you don't have enough guts to go there, but I am not going to abondon somebody from my own blood and crew to be left out there. Even though you don't like it you have to accept that we can't take chances in this war. And I'm going to save him."

The warrior, stepping in front of the fast-walking captain, opposes his words and does not approve of his idea.

"And if you keep bringing your emotions to war, you will end up just like your brother who went after a non worthy treasure. You both have the same ideas, while one of you can actually act logically and do what is right. You shouldn't be putting your men into danger like that."

Captain Grace didn't care. Up until that moment she did what she could, with her own ways of doing it. And she wasn't going to step back just because stranger told her to not to do so, regardless that he saved her life.

"I don't care, get out of my way."

But the warrior kept insisting, thinking about the overall clarity of the plan, and the well being of the captain, just because their plan to work out normally and not under any emotional circumstance.

"If you try to go with this crew or by yourself, you will cause both time loss and everyone's death. I know how animals live and attack. You will not step out of that island alive."

"What do you want me to do then?"

"You will go to the headquarters with your men and get your ship back. I will find your brother and meet you there. Otherwise we won't succeed."

The warrior didn't wanted to interfere with any personal problems of the captain. But he knew at the end they would go downhill if he didn't let her have a normal mindstate by saving her brother. He had sacrifice a little amount of time and effort, just to get back to his plan. Even though their efforts were going to be mutual for both sides.
