Synopsis

Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Oberon O’Connor has always had an extraordinary imagination. Born in County Limerick, Ireland, and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Oberon lives an ordinary life—until his world begins to unravel in ways he could never have anticipated. What he thought was an imaginary friend turns out to be Puck, a mischievous fae creature known as a Pooka. Puck reveals that Oberon’s imagination holds true magical power, and that he is destined to become the Father of the Fae, a legendary figure fated to shape an entirely new realm of existence. As Oberon embraces his newfound abilities, he begins to create the world of Tír na nÓg, a mystical realm of eternal youth, where time stands still, and nothing ever dies of age. With his imagination as his source of power, he breathes life into two opposing courts of fae: the radiant and noble Tuatha Dé Danann, led by the light queen Titania, and the shadowy, enigmatic Unseelie, ruled by the dark queen Maeve. While Oberon learns to wield his formidable magic, he also confronts the growing tensions between Titania and Maeve, whose jealousy toward each other threatens to plunge their courts into chaos. Though outright war is avoided, skirmishes between the two fae factions become common, as each queen vies for Oberon’s favor and seeks to assert dominance in the realm. Accompanied by his mortal best friend, Eamon, who shares in his adventures and begins to learn magic himself, Oberon embarks on a journey to fully realize his role as High King of the Fae. Together, they explore the vast, beautiful, and dangerous lands of Tír na nÓg, encountering otherworldly creatures, ancient magic, and fae lore long forgotten. But darker forces loom on the horizon. A shadowy entity known as the Shadowbinder, along with the Voidspawn, seeks to corrupt and destroy Tír na nÓg, unraveling the magical fabric that holds the fae world together. Oberon must harness the full extent of his powers, unite the divided fae courts, and face this growing threat head-on to protect the realm he created. In this first book of an open-ended series, Oberon discovers the depth of his imagination’s true power, the weight of leadership, and the complexity of the fae world he now rules. As the Father of the Fae, his actions will shape the future of Tír na nÓg and determine whether peace or destruction will reign in the land of eternal youth.
