Being reborn as a blood-lusting dhampyr is just the first of Nye's problems. The cursed shield that's strapped itself to their arm and refuses to let go is the next most pressing issue. And when the magic system designates Nye as a Knight, who must protect a helpless and awkward prince or consequently be driven mad, Nye has just about had it with everything and everyone.  But their little brother has also been reincarnated in this world, and given the giant monsters that stalk the nearby sand dunes, Nye fears the worst. They're willing to use any of the new tools at their disposal to track their brother down and ensure he's safe—even if that means working with the blood-thirsty demon shield and hapless illusionist regent they're bound to protect.
