The First Setback

The First Setback

The Handsomest Crab walked out with Flowing Dream. He had three more people inside his party. They were Gyro Sand, Withering Willow, and Beta Flight. They were friends of the Handsomest Crab.

Their party felt nervous when walking out of the village. They didn't know if they should trust Mystical Flame. They had doubts about what would happen to them if they left the village.

Although, they trusted Handsomest Crab and Flowing Dream who walked out with confidence. So, they gave themselves some confidence and walked out together.

They expected the next few things that occurred.

"Hey, your back again. Tell us your tricks and we won't block you anymore," one player said with arrogance.

There were around 220 people surrounding the village. He felt lucky that he was the one that encountered the people.

Carrying out this operation cost a lot of money. No one wanted to wait for people. They wanted to fight and travel.

The people who surrounded the village were all from the same guild. This guild was fast in creating an operation. They took a few hours to discover where they were.

No other guild had gathered up their guild members and made them wait in front of the village.

Their guild gave them a quest. If they found out how Emile's party completed nightmare difficulty, then they could receive one rare equipment and 50 silver coins.

These rewards were valuable to any player.

The guild gave compensation to the people who waited. Waiting was always boring no matter what type of person they were.

They would receive 100 copper coins for every hour they waited. It was a quick way to earn money, so many people did it.

It took around 220 people to surround the village.

The person contacted no one since he wanted to get the rewards for himself. He imagined being an important figure in the guild after this discovery.

He was hoping for them to reveal the secrets without having him do anything. They wouldn't give up the information.

"No," Handsomest Crab replied.

Emile walked forwards and exclaimed with arrogance, "So you're the people stopping my friends from leaving the village."

"Yeah, and what are you going to do about it," The man exclaimed with even more arrogance than Emile.

"Kill you," Emile said with a deadpan tone.

Emile charged forward and attacked.

The person fell. Their greed and stupidity caused them their death.

The looked for another player to kill.

They continued killing. After killing four more people who had the same mindset of not informing their guild, they found a player who told everyone in his guild he had found them.

Emile and the others didn't know about this. They wanted to kill everyone off as a warning.

Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.

"You shouldn't continue," Flower Queen said, "they will send more players and we'll get surrounded soon. I think that's enough of a warning."

"They'll come back another day if we don't stop them," Emile said.

The person gave his coordinates before his death. There were 200 players coming towards them.

They could see players in the distance. They were waiting for other players from their guild to arrive.

Emile's party didn't know how many there were. They shot a few fireballs and water spheres.

This damaged a lot of the players. Those players spread out and ran towards their party.

Emile and his party killed. They had better equipment and higher levels which allowed them to have an easy time.

Some shot out spells at them. At first, there were only about 30 players which allowed them to have an easy time.

Emile could have killed them all if he wanted to. They were slaying the opponents with ease.

Their level allowed them to dominate any lower leveled players.

Even Handsomest Crab's party had an easy time.

The new players were challenged, but with the support of everyone, they also killed a few players.

This scenario was slowly changing.

An increasing amount of players arrived. The spells they cast also increased which caused even Emile to have a hard time dodging.

His party members were in even worse states. They got hit a few times; most of them retreated. There were only three people left.

Flower Queen and Time Walker stayed with Emile.

"Emile retreat," Time Walker was having a hard time. HE advised Emile

"We can't face this many players," he continued.

Emile wanted to challenge them but he knew how hopeless the scenario was. The players seemed to be endless. He couldn't see the end of the players.

He sighed and said, "retreat."

They used many skills to retreat. Emile activated the skill version of Void-Steps to increase his speed.

They ran. They shot spells at them which zoomed through the sky towards them. They dodged a few.

Emile and Flower Queen got out of the range of the spells.

Time Walker had no points of Agility which caused him to have low amounts of Agility. Flower Queen summoned Mud Walls behind Time Walker to stop the spells from hitting him. This saved his life as he ran out of the range.

"Now, run to the village," Emile said as he continued running.

They followed. The players from the guild also ran forward to stop them and kill them. Their main goal was to kill them one or two times before interrogating them.

They knew that players wouldn't give up anything for the first time unless they were scared of them.

Flower Queen summoned more Mud Walls behind them to stop any players and to stop the spells. They continued running.

In the distance, they say the other players walking with leisure. These players were the people who retreated earlier than them. They were Handsomest Crab's party.

Emile messaged Handsomest Crab and told him to run to the village. He mentioned how they escaped from the battle.

Handsomest Crab complied and told his party to run.

From an aerial perspective, they could see a small group of players running in the forest towards Song Village.

Behind them were less than 200 players chasing after them.

It was a sight to behold.

Emile's party could see the village and gave a final sprint before making it inside the village. The village had a teleporter which could teleport them to a different location.

The village wasn't safe for them. Emile could get away with killing 60 players meant that those players could get away with killing them.

The system only gave a small amount of protection to players inside a village.

That's why the players from the guild didn't enter the village. If they tried to harass someone inside a village they would get in trouble. That was the only protection players had.

Everything else was fair game.

Emile told everyone to head to the teleporter and teleport to Nile Village. The players from the guild wouldn't know where they teleported.

The players from the guild had no restrictions when entering the Village since they would not harass anyone, they were aiming to kill.

The village was lawless.

After more running, they teleported away to Nile Village.

The players from the guild cursed underneath their breath. They failed in their mission.

Emile's party was safe.

"Oh, It's you," Lucifer said with no expression on his face.

"I thought you died in that explosion. I was wrong. You know me, I hate being wrong," The man said after taking a sip of wine which was resting on the table next to him.

"How did you find me," Lucifer asked.

"You went to the Nirvanic Conference. Even if you hid your identity and used a fake pass you couldn't hide your fingerprint. I scanned all the people's fingerprints. And my computer recognized your fingerprint which I thought was rather strange. I pulled up the matches and saw your picture from 20 years ago. It surprised me when I saw you," The man said.

"I knew I shouldn't have gone."

Lucifer sighed before asking coldly, "Why did you kill my family?"
