Making a Deal

Making a Deal

"So I will make a proposal to you," The man said.

"What kind of proposal," Lucifer was still skeptical about him. This man named Nick was not an ordinary man. He liked to do things that others would think are useless.

Tracking fingerprints were one thing. It was a strange hobby that rarely paid off.

"You don't have to be so skeptical. Killing you and your son is as easy as a snap of a finger." Nick said with a smile.

Lucifer felt alarmed. He didn't know how Nick found out about Emile. He denied it.

"Son? What son? My son died in the explosion 20 years ago." Lucifer said while trembling.

Lucifer was superb in acting.

"Don't play dumb. Don't think I didn't see your son enter your dojo multiple times. You also gave him the Nirvanic System which showed that you trusted him. I know you won't trust a random person so they must be your son. Also, the hidden camera in his room showed him creating a flame. I don't think a random person would know how to create a flame unless they were from the fire family," Nick pointed out the many flaws he had.

"And if you still don't believe me. Then let me tell you something, I took his DNA and your DNA and matched them. You have similar DNA which shows you have a blood relationship." He continued.

These words showed how meticulous the man was. He wouldn't do anything without a guarantee. If he doesn't have a 100% chance, then he won't believe in it.

"So what's your proposal?" Lucifer said as he realized that he couldn't continue denying his son's existence.

"You should know how I'm from the Dark family. My brother is the candidate to become the next head of the family. He has to prove himself in Nirvana. He can improve his own skills and win the head position. It's a win-win situation for him." Nick said.

"And what does that have to do with anything," Lucifer questioned.

"I want you to ask your son to disrupt his plans. I want him to fail." Nick said.

"Isn't he your family? Why would you want him to fail?" Lucifer asked.

"I want to be the family head. If he fails, I'm the second person they will pick." He said calmly.

"What happens if I refuse?" Lucifer asked.

"Both you and your son will die," He said.

"You bring death into everything." Lucifer sighed before saying, "I accept your offer."

"That's good," Nick said. Nick waited as he expected another question to come his way.

"Why did you select me out of all the people?" Lucifer asked.

"You're not the only person I asked. There are many people trying to take him down. You're just another person. It doesn't matter if you fail, but if you reveal my identity... I swear I will torture you before your inevitable demise." Nick's tone became cold.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

"But as long as you keep trying, I won't do anything to you. How does that sound?" Nick asked with a gentle smile. His face transformed. In one moment he went from a frosty tone to a gentle, warm tone.

Lucifer felt shivers at his words.

"That sounds good. Who is your brother in the game?" Lucifer asked.

"He's Furious Striker. A childish name." The man scoffed at his name.

"All right, I'll tell my son to disrupt some of his plans. Could you remove the cameras in his room? I don't feel safe when he's being watched at every moment." Lucifer gave a request.

"Sure." He replied.

Lucifer felt numb from being tied up.

"Could you let me go home now," Lucifer asked. He didn't know if Nick would release him this easily.

"Sure. Untie him." He asked.

At this moment, a few people wearing black revealed themselves and untied his ropes.

"You're free now. Don't forget to do what I asked." Nick said.

They escorted Lucifer out. The people wearing black didn't trust him to be close to their master. Their master being Nick.

They blindfolded him when he was leaving since they didn't want him to know about their location.

They brought him back to his dojo.

Lucifer didn't have a sense of time so he didn't know how long it took for him to come back. They took off his blindfold when he was inside his dojo.

Afterward, they disappeared revealing Lucifer standing in the middle of his dojo with a worried look on his face. He didn't want to listen to Nick, but the circumstances forced him to.

Nick did his side of the deal. He asked his people to remove the cameras from Emile's room. Emile was unaware of everything. He was playing Nirvana.

Azure, his mini robot, took notice of these people and took a picture. She looked deactivated when she wasn't doing anything, so these people suspected nothing of her.

She took multiple pictures before the people vanished through his window.

They closed his window to not put anything out of place. There was no difference in his room other than the small spy cameras that used to live with him.

___

Emile was showing Time Walker the market. He told him about the features of the Nirvana Market.

Emile also brought him to sign up for the Nirvanic Tournament. He mentioned how the person was eccentric.

Emile asked Time Walker to be nice and not be rude.

Time Walker talked to the old man. It hadn't been long since they left Flower Queen to gather potential party members.

Emile waited.

After five minutes, Time Walker walked out and spoke.

"That guy was mentioning how I'm the first average to awaken a skill system. He was weird. What does he mean by I'm the first person? You got your skills system before me and Flower Queen got her skill system before me, so how can I be the first?" Time Walker felt confused.

"You fit into a special category," Emile didn't know how to word it.

"You weren't born with any special abilities. That means you're the first who gained the skill system by buying it. We got the system for free." Emile said.

"Everyone in the Nirvanic Market got the skill system for free except you," Emile continued.

"That's not fair," Time Walker said.

"Life isn't fair. Some are born above others while some have more intelligence than us." Emile said.

"Stop spouting philosophical things," Time Walker said.

"Yeah, sure," Emile said with a laugh.

"I'll show you the Elemental Courtyard," Emile said.

Emile walked to the Elemental Courtyard and Time Walker followed. He told him the function of the Elemental Courtyard and how he could gain Time Skill points.

He let him try out one mission. Emile didn't want to try one now.

After Time Walker entered the courtyard, Emile received a message from Lily.

"Uhm... a lot more people want to be a part of our party than I would have thought," Flower Queen said.

"I need help, come here quick," She continued.

Emile walked towards the location they set their sign up. He noticed many people standing in a long line. He didn't know what this line was for.

Emile walked passed this line to Flower Queen.

He noticed this line was in front of Flower Queen who was yelling out orders. This surprised Emile.

"I want a single file line in front of me! If anyone fights, skips or does anything to get ahead in the line then they won't be accepted into the party. No matter how skillful you are, If you can't listen to orders, then I won't accept you into our party." She was a good leader figure.

Emile walked to her.
