Auction

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to our auction. Today we have an assortment of rare items. I'm your host, Robert, and now let's get this show on the road."

A man wearing a suit appeared on the stage. He gave an intro before the first item appeared.

"The first item is a sword made by a new blacksmith named Conor. It's a weapon made of tungsten steel. It's sharp enough to break the defenses of a Skeletal Refining Stage 2. The sword is perfect for people in the peak of Muscle Refining and stage 1 of Skeletal Refining. The starting price is 20 silver coins. Bidding may begin now."

The host said as he brought out a sword for display.

"25 silver coins."

"30 silver coins!"

The price kept rising. People continued to bid for the item.

Emile didn't need the sword. It ranked the sword Uncommon. The sword he owned was also Uncommon. He wanted a better sword than his current sword. He waited for a rare ranked sword.

The bidding stopped at one gold coin and 40 silver coins. Someone got the item after an intense session of bidding.

The next few items were pieces of equipment. The equipment up for bidding were all ranked Uncommon.

Emile didn't have a use for Uncommon items. He required rare ranked items.

After ten uncommon items, the first rare item appeared in the auction.

None of the people in the private rooms bought anything.

"We have an item someone found in an ancient ruin. These ruins were when the Fire Element appeared last. We uncovered more treasures from these ruins. This item was the chest plate found on the body of a Nerve Refining Stage. Protecting yourself from Nerve Refining cultivators will become easier with this chest plate. We added designs to it, to make it look good. The starting bid is 50 gold coins. The bidding may begin now."

Robert described the origins of the item and the effects of the item.

Emile didn't think the item was as good as his chest plate so he didn't bid for it. Emile experienced the tense atmosphere that was created by this item.

Two private rooms to the left of him made a bid. Emile continued to eat grapes.

"100 gold coins!"

They doubled the price of the item.

"110 gold coins," Someone else from a different private room shouted.

The commoner and the public didn't have enough gold coins to join in on the bidding. The only bidders were the two private rooms.

One was the leader of the Moon Sect and the other was the Leader of the Sun Sect.

They both hated the other person and their sect. Competition between them was a normal occurrence. Bloodshed was also normal. Their fights were always balanced. if they gained an item that could stop attacks from Nerve Refining stage it could tilt this balance a tiny bit.

The leader of the Moon Sect won the bidding war with 800 gold coins. They felt aggrieved since they wasted enormous amounts of coins. They couldn't afford to bid for many more items.

The next item was the first item that caught Emile's attention. It was a pendant.

This item was the first Red Silver item of the auction. The stats weren't up to par, but the skill was legendary. The only reason this item was Red Silver was due to the skill.

"This is a pendant. It has no properties on it. The reason it appears in such a high-class auction is that this pendant once belonged to an Earth Stage cultivator. There might even be hidden applications about this item. The starting bid is ten gold coins. You may begin."

The host ended his speech. He flattered the item a great amount.

They didn't discover the flight skill. The price of the pendant would have risen to the thousands if they had known the pendant gave flight.

They considered it a souvenir. Emile had to get the item, but he didn't want to make a big scene about it.

"11 gold coins." He shouted.

Someone from the private boxes bid for the item.

"20 gold coins."

"What insane people. They are willing to buy a useless item for 20 gold coins. That's more money than I would earn in ten years wasted on a pendant," said one of the public.

"The world of the rich are far from us," another sighed before responding.

"30 gold coins," Emile raised the amount again.

"Why is someone else collecting antiques, go find out who they are," The person in the private room felt confused why others were collecting items.

He didn't stop bidding yet.

"40 gold coins," he said calmly.

"50 gold coins," Emile responded instantly.

"60 gold coins," The man said.

His butler came back with information.

"We don't know who that is. The person showed up with 500 gold coins and asked for a private room. They have no background as far as I'm aware." The butler said.

"I'll let him get the item for now. I'll take it back from him after the auction ends." The man said coldly.

"70 gold coins," Emile responded.

No one else bid.

"70 gold coins going once."

"70 gold coins going twice."

"The gentlemen in the private room has won the pendant for 70 gold coins."

The maid received the item and gave it to Emile. Emile paid the 70 gold coins and continued to watch the auction.

The next few items were items he didn't require. He added one or two bids to increase the total.

The Sun Sect leader bought a few items to match up to the Moon Sect leader.

"The next item is the final item. This item is a sword forged by a Grandmaster Blacksmith. The quality of the sword is unquestionable. They made the sword out of adamantium and spirit lines. It's an awakened sword meaning it has its own spirit. They bathed it in lightning before it awakened. The starting bid is 500 gold coins. You may bid."

Emile identified the sword.

Emile needed this item. He would become powerful if he equipped the sword.

Emile waited for the price to go high before he would put in a bid.

"600 gold coins."

"700 gold coins."

It approached 1000 gold coins.

"1000 gold coins," shouted someone from the middle of the private rooms.

It had broken the 1000 barrier.

The price was still rising. It had slowed down when it reached 1800 gold coins.

"2000 gold coins," Emile shouted after noticing the price slowing down.

"2200 gold coins."

"2300 gold coins," Emile responded.

"2400 gold coins," someone said with gritted teeth.

"2500 gold coins," Emile said calmly without flinching by the high prices.

The auction went quiet as no one else placed a bid.

"2500 gold coins going once."

"2500 gold coins going twice."

"The gentlemen in the private room has won the sword for 2500 gold coins."

The host said the same sentence structure throughout the auction.

"That concludes our auction. Thank you for showing up. If you couldn't gain anything, then come back next time to have a chance at gaining an even better time." The host said everything with a small smile on his face.

"The auction is now closing, you may leave through one exit." He continued.

Emile got his sword from one maid and left his private room. The butler was watching Emile.

"Master the person has left their room, would you like me to follow them and gain the items," The butler said calmly.

"Yes, get me the sword and the pendant," The man said with hatred in his tone.

Emile left the auction not knowing someone was following him.
