Synopsis

Right before getting into a car accident, Connor wakes up in a ruined world filled with monsters and robots. He meets another 'player' who teaches him the ropes on how to survive but even such an alliance is short-lived. Can this average guy adapt and find a way back home or will he be just another victim to the will of the System? This is a first-person pov LitRPG story that's a slow-burn progression for its first arc. It'll have an unconventional narrative flow so don't expect constant tension. There will be gritty and dark tones interspersed within the story but there will also be moments of light-hearted fun. This is Connor. If you're reading this, that means you're still alive. If you're a new arrival—my condolences. You thought you were gonna die, only to find yourself in this hellhole of a world called Nexus. You'll get some random superpower soon. Hope your RNG is blessed. If you find yourself a good samaritan player, learn all that you can from them and stay in their good graces. Ask all the questions you can, because having information is the difference between eating the next ration and getting a bullet to the head.  Oh, if the good samaritan betrays you...don't take it too personally. If you don't find a good samaritan, don't worry. You'll get a tutorial package from the System soon enough. I don't know much about it, didn't go that route. Protips: Keep your World ID a secret. Don't get stuck in a Riftgate when the timer runs out. Upgrade your gear. Soloing is not for everybody. Watch your six. Don't piss off a girl called 'Tempest'. If you're reading this and you're a veteran player....put it back where you got it from, but I also have a message for you. If a cache of grocery goods spawns in a Server that you and I are in, don't even think about trying—stick to your ration bars, punk. * First-person perspective. Bit of a slow burn at the start. Non-conventional narrative flow. * This is an Isekai LitRPG story set in a post-apocalyptic world. I'm not sure if I should also classify this as a System Apocalypse but it does share elements of that subgenre.
