Synopsis
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a word salad of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequiturs ex machina, run on sentences, plot holes, and another thing that I forget but I'll come back and edit this description if I think of somethi—silly names! It was silly names, that's what it was. Maybe the title gave that away. Anyway, in a nutshell, it's like if Alice in Wonderland had a baby, the baby fell down the stairs, and then the stairs wrote the story. It's like stairs wrote it, but they didn't. Stairs can't write. I wrote this, because I wanted to. The words are all made-up, half of them embarrassed to be seen with the other half, and almost some of them doing their best. It's all any of us can do.
NEWDIE STEADSLAW tells tales which take place within the Inverted Earth, a place made possible by the esoteric science of private relativity, where up is left, near is far, and now is never. It's the story of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job, but it's squirming and poorly socialized and—spoiler alert—it doesn't go as planned. There's a blimp involved, and unicorns, and a sewer level (but we gloss over that pretty quickly, you've done enough sewer levels, I'm sure).
New chapters are posted Thursdays at 12:26 PM EDT.
