“Tye, how fast am I going currently?”
{240mph, if you stay on track, you will reach the 200-mile mark in 50 minutes.}
“Okay, can you take control of my body until I arrive at the 10 miles away mark?”
{Certainly Sir, do you want me to put you in your main body while you wait?}
“No, that’s alright. I’m going to meditate in my Library”.
Moments later, Chatum descended into his soul closing himself off to the world. When inside his library he believed he may be able to meditate and gain aether or at the very least create skills. One of the main ones he wanted was aether absorption. This was because of the cost that creating a new body would take if he died. Currently, Tye had 100k AE but if he was to accidentally die, he would have to use some of the aether he wanted Tye to use to help grow.
Considering how helpful Tye was now, what would happen in 10 years or 100 even? Growth was one of the main aspects of artificial intelligence and Chatum’s goal was going to get him to manage Frontier and hopefully more.
Frontier was the starting point, the solar system was second, third was the galaxy and finally, the nebula that Frontier resided in. Letting other nebular grow on their own was going to be good for chaos later, but order was a requirement if life was to thrive.
Balance was required for most things, chaos and order were both required to keep a universe thriving, and creating demi-gods was going to be the best way to help with that. After level 100 you could live thousands of years, level 200 just meant more. There wasn’t a limit once you hit level 500, but you could use your life energy to do something, but Chatum was not sure what.
Being in the Library was going to cause the world outside to slow down, A clock appeared next to Chatum’s ethereal body, and it started ticking up. It would be a good idea to check how long 50 minutes would translate to inside of the library. But that was secondary, first was meditating and gaining aether.
Sitting down near the centre of the library he crossed his legs and imagined absorbing aether into his body, then while it came into his pours, he imagined it forming a sphere inside his soul.
Suddenly the aether that he imagined vanished, and it looked to have failed. Trial and error were the name of the game. Doing the same for 10 minutes outside time, he finally found the shape. The shape was a hexagon and from memory, he knew that the shape was used naturally by bees, they used the shape as it was strong for structural integrity. So, it made sense as what Chatum was doing was laying the foundations for his soul.
Pouring aether into the hexagon inside his soul, it slowly formed and continued to become more real, after around 5 minutes outside it was finished. The total cost would have been 2000 ae but he was absorbing outside aether at an astonishing rate, inside the hexagon he started to create a black hole, not a literal one but a metaphorical one, so it would automatically collect aether even when he wasn’t cultivating. After another 5 minutes outside it was finally finished. It was like a hexagon 20 cm in height, and each side had 5cm making it look more like a tower than a one-sided shape. But it was what felt correct to him. The black hole was spinning and slowly dragged aether into it, like his eyes it was violet and from what Chatum could tell, it was powering up. Making a guess it would take 30 minutes outside to finish. Which would be much slower if he wasn’t doing this inside his Library.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Looking towards his clock it had been 20 days inside his soul, which was astonishing, a minute converted to a full day and that was just the start of the library skill, it could be increased if he used aether to slow time down more.
“Well, I guess it's time to meditate on my core” Concentrating on the black hole it started to speed up, going 1 mile per second to 10. Speed was relative and so using the aether inside of the core to speed up wasn’t taking any away from the core, but instead fed more into it. Currently, it is eating 10 aether per second, but it costs 1 aether to speed it up by 10 miles per second. So, it was going to gain 9 more aether than it cost per second for upkeep. Allowing the aether to speed it up, slowly it reached 1000 miles per second and after 30 minutes outside, it was finally finished.
This was a feedback loop that gained more aether than used, it cost 100 mana per second to keep the speed but 900 ae was being stored inside it. Chatum was going to use this to increase the size of the hexagon blackhole combo which would eventually start to feed into his main body through Tye. Which was most likely not something that others had thought of, however, if they did, they may not be crazy enough to try it as there was a good chance of exploding. But as it wasn’t his true body it made no difference. A soul would be fine as long as it wasn't outright attacked, or so his instincts told him. Being a god was strange.
It was about to be 50 days inside his library/soul and so he allowed himself to go back up to the surface and slowly Tye relinquished control of Chatum’s avatar.
{Welcome back Chatum, I see the goal was achieved.}
“It went swimmingly, I believe you will start to gain feedback in around 10 years once it has hit the maximum size.”
{Good, I will start other projects when it is finished, as currently, we don’t have enough aether. The mortals are generating next to nothing currently as they are level 0-10 but once they hit level 25 and up, we will start to gain 1 aether per person/sentient per day.}
“Oh, that’s good. I was expecting 0.1 ae. But I guess that’s because of you?”
{Yes, I have refined and copied your hexagon soul structure and will start to give others the info to start construction of it, however, this is most likely going to take a long time. Compared to you others will take years to build it.}
“Good to know, how far away am I now?”
{They are 5 minutes away from here, I am hoping the demi-god project works as that will increase the aether gen by a fair amount. You will most likely be able to wake Allan up after 2000 years if the hexagon structure works.}
“Yeah, it's going to be long-term. But for now, it’s time to meet my new subjects. No that seems like the wrong word.”
[Followers? That is the closest to what they are currently.}
“Well, we can go with followers then” Chatum chuckled towards Tye’s screen, with the library, his emotions were dulled, and while helpful currently. He needed to fit in with Dragonoids and well, people don't like emotionless machines.
As Tye had a sudo-soul he was able to feel emotions like any other creature, and that did wonders for Chatum as currently he wasn't feeling much. Losing Allen like he had was detrimental to his well-being but fortunately, he had another friend to come with him.
Gods were different to normal beings, emotions were there to protect them and help them, while sometimes hindering them. Instincts like fight or flight ran of fear, but gods didn’t have any need for it. Like all things, they had some but not as many as normal people would have.
