Synopsis
Prologue
Anathema and You
The first documented case of Anathema was in 1692. The church classified it a plague when the protestants decided that the symptoms of Anathema were unholy, and those afflicted must be exterminated. After a small town massacre in Massachusetts in which 20 lives were claimed, the rest of the world quickly adopted the crusade against Anathema.
Colloquially, Anathema is referred to simply as a curse. Up until the turn of the 20th century, being infected with Anathema was punishable by death. However, after a United Nations ruling in 976, the cursed were declared separate but equal.
Today the cursed are welcome to live a full and normal life so long as they report their condition to the proper authorities and do not exacerbate their symptoms. Whereas most cursed citizens follow this law, there are underground cults and societies whose sole purpose is to rebel against what they believe is unconstitutional oppression. These felons are wanted in all 50 states.
If you think you may have Anathema please book an appointment with one of your local clinics. Anathema medical evaluations are provided free by the federal government in every U.S. state, territory and province. All clinics have support and outreach programs, as well as resources for the afflicted and their families. If you are considering suicide please call 1-800-273-8255.
If you or someone you know is considering exacerbating their symptoms, please notify the local authorities immediately.
You are not alone, and God Bless America.
