Local adventurer and opportunistic vagabond, Riverton, is jailed in the town of Red Hollow after a successful raid on Beleg's tomb, the remnant left behind by a dragon priest of an ancient past.  Incarcerated due to the schemes of a deceptive vixen, Riverton wallows in misery and self-pity within the confines of the cell each day until suddenly, in the dead of night, the traitorous witch visits him again. He knows not why she came to him, but knows only that he won't be fooled twice.
