This story centers on Aikawa Atsuo, Hikari, and Mikage. Atsuo, who decides to end his life, is saved by an unknown girl. His life begins to change when he discovers that the same girl is a new transfer student in his class. She forcibly becomes friends with Atsuo and alters his perspective on life and how to live. Mikage is Atsuo's imagined confidant. When Atsuo is under immense stress, he imagines Mikage and converses with him. Mikage serves as his inner voice and friend.
