As the students all took their seats, the substitute teacher walked in, of course all the students besides Kane and Toby, had the same thought at the same time ‘Easy Target’ since the man looked old and wore robes and was hunched over
“Okay class, we will now begin, I will give you 5 minutes to review your previous assignments since you will be having a final exam today” The Sub Said.
< An Hour Later >
“Alrighty guys, could you all form a single-file line and turn in your exams if you're done, after that you may leave.” The Sub Said.
Kane and Toby ran to his desk and dropped their papers in the basket, and briskly left
“FINALLY NO SCHOOL” Kane Said Excitedly.
“I know right? Now we can train to our hearts content like those guys in anime” Toby Said.
“Should I dye my hair back to black?” Kane Said.
“Well, i think it looks nice as white but yeah, i do prefer your old black hair” Toby Said.
After Kane dyed his hair back to black they decided to take the first week off and rest before they start training hard with the help of gabriel
After the first week in the forest behind the school
“So how do we start gabriel?” Kane Asked.

-Well, i'm glad you asked, I will create a holographic training dummy that you both can see, and you guys will train with it until you can reach the maximum level, the dummy will train your hand to hand combat abilities, as well as swordsmanship or anything else you want to learn, although i suggest learning as many weapons as you can for different situations, anyway, the dummy will also slowly enhance your reflexes and perception, by the time you get to the maximum level in all aspects you should be able to see your opponents next move clearly, and your body will automatically respond, oh and please keep in mind that the only thing i will do for you is keep you awake, so you can get as much training in as possible, of course this will cost you 2 EXP per 12h which will be 730 EXP per year, you can split the difference between yourselves if you'd like to lessen the impact on the other, Besides that im sure youll be able to break through to at least level 1 by the end of the year, good luck-
“Hmmmm, i guess this does give us the advantage of not sleeping, and level 1 shouldnt be hard for us to get, seeing as how much a difference level 5 can make im pretty sure that level 1 is almost super human level 2 is probably where you start to become inhuman with monstrous strength and vitality” Toby Said.

“Ehhhhhh, I don't think the specifics matter much as long as we control our strength enough not to kill anyone and just beat everyone up that challenges us we'll be fine” Kane Said.
“I swear, sometimes the fact that you're so violent, and the fact that it's attractive is scary” Toby Said.
“Thanks for the compliment, we should probably start now since there's only a year until we get picked up, we need to get as much EXP as we can and from what i've seen we can cash in EXP points for stat points until we hit the max amount of 40 in each stat, the ratio is 100/1 so that means we need about 4000 EXP for each stat category, that means we need a total of- wait i forgot that our EXP got reset when we went into duo mode, okay so this means that we need to be able to get EXP quickly somehow” Kane Said.

“I like those passive abilities, anyway, we have 5 categories for points that means 20,000 EXP is needed to max out our stats and an extra 730 for Gabriels help, i'll say we need to grind and get at least half of the overall EXP points because we need to factor in buying and upgrading the skills so that's about 50K EXP in a year, i bet we can get that in 6 months” Kane Said.
“For someone who skips school you're pretty smart” Toby Said.
“Well duh, i don't do nothing when i skip, school just moves at a faster pace than i can handle so i skip and go on my own, anyway remember that we are gonna have to choose between magic and weapons when we get to the academy so we don't stand out too much, we should probably go with mastery of weapons since its useful and the skills that come with it we can easily take out a mage since even when instant casting it takes 1 second to cast different spells, although there is no such drawback when they spam the same spell, unless they run out of mana, we can easily dodge and deflect them with weapons and we are more versatile so it's much better” Kane Said.
“You have a point there, it's better to always be prepared though, so we could go half weapons half magic mastery, since neither are difficult just slightly time consuming, i'd say we need like 1 Month per weapon/spell class, since we learn quickly enough” Toby Said.
“That is true, but we need to focus on training now, we've been talking here for like a half an hour and Gabriel gave us a daily workout quest” Kane Said.
And so they started to train relentlessly, after doing the daily quest they paid for Gabriels help and had 1,270 EXP left they just need 18,730 more EXP

Meanwhile in a random dark alley
“So you failed to kill him? And now you want to come here and spout bullshit about how he flew and teleported? Made you kneel and took your magic away?!?!” The Man In Robes, Shouted angrily
“Sir, i apologize for this lowly rats misbehaviour, i will do everything in my power to make Kane suffer so please forgive me and give me another chance” Tyler Said.
“AHAHAHAHAHA” The Man In Robes Laughed aggressively.
“You think you're gonna get another chance to fail? I'm not naïve enough to send you to fail again, i've seen too much anime to know how that will go, I don't like loose ends”
The Man snapped his fingers and ter combusted into flames, along with the rest of his team that had any connection to tyler
“It seems there was an anomaly in my plan, i never expected this, although the main character always gets a powerup to fight the villain in the beginning of the show, and i'm sure he deserved it, but now since that villian is me, everything will change, i will make sure the hero suffers to the point where he cannot go on living” The Man In Robes said, as he laughed to the point of not being able to speak.
And so, the villain has appeared, will our boys prevail? Or will they be swallowed in the darkness that walks behind them in the form of their shadows, i guess we'll have to wait and see
