This story follows Levent, a boy hailing from a noble house in Ozkan. The kingdom he grew up in was destroyed by the Great Cretulm Empire, their attempts to resist proving futile in the face of their enemies overwhelming power. Ozkan's royal lineage is scrupulously annihilated, with only a handful living through the purge. Levent managed to survive, but to truly escape he needs to be somewhere his enemies can't reach him, which leads him to leave for the sea. Coming to terms with his new situation, finally able to practice magic and experiencing a lot of stuff he didn't ever dream of, there's only a tiny question nagging at the back of Levent's mind. Isn't everything pointless anyway?
