When the Monkey King Died, he left behind his magic artifacts and armor pieces, each capable of granting incredible power beyond the wildest dreams of mortal monkeys. Holly Mars is the unfortunate bearer of the Monkey King's Circlet, and has learned first hand the dangerous power that it holds, and the incredible transformation she must unwillingly undergo when her emotions grow too strong. Unable to remove it on her own, she must learn to use the circlet's power before it destroys her and everyone she holds dear.  In exchange for this training, Holly teams with an older monkey who seems quite familiar with the Monkey King, and promises to train Holly if she helps her travel the world and gather all of the remining artifacts. It is a long journey but to reach her full potential and master the power of the circlet, Holly must brace herself to cross paths with powerful enemies, terrible magics, outlandish technologies, and come out the other side victorious.
