One of those three was Fu Xidong, that smoke user that Sage faced off against previously, and he used that smoke to form a stairway, rapidly climbing up it to escape the assault of the Chong Clan Matriarch and her house sized scorpion mount. The other two new Nascent Souls weren’t so lucky and their attempts to escape from the moving walls were unsuccessful. There was a series of loud cracks and the two of them were sent flying. Blood spurt from their mouths and their bodies bent into unnatural positions when they rolled across the ground.
At the same time that this was going on, the Fu Clan’s two peak Nascent Souls delivered a vicious blow towards the two Chong Clan cultivators that were up in the air with them. A giant bat formed out of Wind Natured Qi and empowered by Wind Law smashed into the giant winged centipede and buffeted it with piercing gusts of wind in the shape of claws. The centipede’s carapace plates were shattered by these immaterial weapons and its bodily fluids spilled by the gallon, raining onto the ground with a loud splatter. It swung its wing, aiming for the Wu Elder riding on its back, but the man ducked under an armored protrusion, clinging tight to the giant centipede. The other peak Nascent Soul was the man riding on a flying tool and he shot towards the Wa Elder that was using small disc shaped air vortexes as aerial lily pads. The Fu Clan Elder wore a suit of dark armor and placed his hands on his thighs. He squatted down till his thighs were parallel with the platform of the flying tool and flew straight towards the Elderly man with a toad head.
A torrent of spikes were fired out of hidden launchers on the man’s armored thighs and aimed towards the Wa Elder who was in the middle of a leap. The toad headed man spit out a disc in front of himself and flipped over, kicking off the disc in his path, but it wasn’t enough to avoid all of the hidden weapons that were pulsing with Law energy. The six inch long spikes stabbed into his crossed forearms, blocking all but one of them from hitting his torso. They sunk in, punching through the thick leather skin of the toad he was wearing, then pierced his skin and stabbed in to strike his bone. The spikes were thrown off course by his bones, knocked to the side and carving a channel into the bone with their sharp tips. Even then, the spikes still had enough force to nearly punch through the second layer of toad skin. The few that weren’t deflected by the bones of his forearm punched through both sides but were stopped by the flexing of his muscles to apply pressure. The spike that he wasn’t able to block struck him in the rib, skating off the bone and lodging itself in his chest. It was only an inch away from puncturing his lung and he didn’t waste any time grabbing hold of it and roughly tearing it out. He chose to suffer extra damage inflicted from this motion in order to remove the future danger of having the spike driven deeper. He spit out another wind disc along with a long tongue that attached to that disc and used the impromptu rope to change his velocity from a downward arc into a horizontal one.
After smashing against the giant many winged centipede, the woman with the bat avatar around herself changed course and pounced down upon the Chong Clan Matriarch. Charging down towards the giant scorpion she was riding on. Following in her wake, the man with the trio of red feathers at his brow flew onto the giant centipede. The huge centipede was still flustered and shocked by the earlier attack and the level 68 Fu Clan Elder, Fu Chiying, dashed in and stabbed his fingers into the gap between its armored body sections. His fingers were curled into the shape of claws and carrying an unusual red Qi. Like five knives they plunged into the centipede’s flesh and it let out a pained squeal. Unlike the previous attack, the Wu Elder didn’t just hide from this one. The pained sound of the centipede showed how great the damage inflicted was and the man flashed out from behind the little armored space he was hiding in. Another centipede shot out like a whip from his arm, striking like a cobra at Fu Chiying, who had to pull his hand out of the giant winged centipede’s body to defend himself. The man’s glowing fingers met the weaponized whip centipede with a metallic clash, but somehow anywhere the man’s fingers touched the centipede would be weakened.

The other flying Fu Clan Elder engaged in battle with the Xie Triplet’s tiny scorpions. The three women were glowing with a red light just like the scorpions which had turned into glowing ribbons of energy. They danced around through the sky with perfect coordination and quickly overwhelmed the man wearing a bandana. The sandstorm surrounding him seemed to only slightly impede the scorpions. Only the cloak of Qi around him was able to affect them, but even with such a large area of coverage he was only barely able to deflect the attacks. The three of them constantly attacked his blindspots and put him on the ropes. Wu Yun, the other Centipede Elder, rode a huge wave-like cloud into the sky, but he ran into the dark smoke of Fu Xidong that had just escaped the Chong Clan Matriarch. Neither of them were particularly agile in the air and were separated by only a single level so they fought pretty evenly.
With so much chaos going on up above, the plan to overwhelm the Chong Clan with numbers was somewhat disturbed by the Chong Clan Matriarch drawing attention. The Chong Clan couldn’t rely on its air superiority, but they also set up an uneven match aside from the Xie Triplet’s scorpions. The two remaining Elders from the Wa faction rushed towards the Fu man with the green fanged masquerade mask. Fu Xiaolong was met by the level 69 old woman and second level 67 old man. The two of them were also wearing their toad suits and the bulbous eyes of the two toads were stretched to conform to their faces which gave them a mask of their own that was far more goofy and disturbing than Fu Xiaolong. The two of them didn’t use any tricks, rushing in and using their physical bodies as weapons.
Fu Xiaolong used a sword that was more than ten feet long, but it was as thick and wide as a belt and made of a very flexible metal. It swept through the air and twisted around like a whip, but if he swung it in line with the edge it straightened out from the centrifugal force and could cut like a sword. The sword’s hilt was in the shape of a viper, the minimal crossguard was the snake’s head and the blade was spit out of its mouth like a tongue. The body of the viper was only a foot long, so it appeared to be very stubby, but the pair of fangs were dripping some sort of greenish liquid onto the blade.
The old woman was just as strong as the man with the bandana, just below the three peak Nascent Souls. She rushed in with a series of fast and powerful kicks, each time her legs moved there was a booming crash of thunder and the air crackled with electricity. She was launched forward with a thunder-like explosion and caused similar booms of force everytime her legs struck. Opposite her, the old man was the same level as Fu Xiaolong and he fought with his indomitable body. His every motion was filled with pure physical force as he was a rare dual cultivator, training his body as well as his Qi. The ground was torn apart by the push of his feet and the rocks and trees were like clay and styrofoam in the face of his strikes. With such short range to his attacks he stomped on the ground or swept his hand into the ground to turn the earth into projectile weapons.
