"This whole thing is a mess." Pauli dropped his face to his hands.
We went inside the house and sat at the dinner table, the only place where there were chairs and a table. Pauli brought back Aria's sword as well, placing it on the table. Up close, it was a lot magnificent. The red and yellow accent on the hilt completed the beauty of its shining blade. The buttery smoke was still there. I could feel the heat of it from where I sat. As a former inhabitant of a world with zero magic, the sword and its smoke was a bewildering sight to see.
"You should be careful, going around with your info hanging like that. You want the whole village to know what you are? You're 17 years old. It is impossible for someone that looks like you. You must be at least 150 years to 200 years old. Never again show it to anyone. You hear me?" Pauli's tone was strained as he leaned to his chair.
"Wait. It's available for others to see just like that?"
"Yes."
"Can I hide it?"
"Of course. Why don't you ask your assistant?"
I nodded my head in frustration. It was fortunate that this incident only involved Aria, someone who was unable to keep her focus.
'Lian, hide any of my information.'
'Understood.'
"What's the deal with you guys' age? Like, I don't understand. At what age a child is considered an adult?"
"1 to 70 years meaning a child. 71 to 100 meaning teenager. 101 to 150 meaning young adult. 151 to 450 meaning adult. At more than 450, you'll start moving slower. Your back will be in pain every second. Your body will be so vulnerable, and you'll die soon after."
I couldn't move my tongue. The life span was way too incomprehensible. Thinking someone would live for about 100 years was already too much. It was a disaster in my opinion. I wouldn't want to live that long. In normal circumstances, who in the world would say, 'Yeah, we here can live for centuries'? If someone like that was on Earth, he would be a God already.
"Anyway, your stats are looking off." He then jumped to another topic as if I hadn't been horrified enough.
"What do you mean?" I asked slowly, bracing for whatever it was on Pauli's end.
Pauli's lifted his right hand, and, out of nowhere, his system's screen appeared.
"This thing right here," he pointed to his skill info, "There's no such a thing as 'unidentified'. It's either you have skills or you don't."
I quickly opened my own and read
"Why is that?" His eyes were genuinely curious.
"You don't know it. Let alone me."
'Answer: An anomaly is detected. The abnormality in some parts of your soul could not be analyzed. You have substances similar to substances of skill, but a foreign barrier prevented the analysis. Hence, it's unidentified.'
Huh?
Seeing my expression, Pauli squinted his eyes with suspicion.
"What? My assistant just said that there is an abnormality with that."
"Abnormality?"
"When you think about it, we shouldn't see me as something normal in the first place. Look at my age. Well, even on Earth, with a body like this, I am at least more than 20 years old."
"Meaning, some of your info might be false?" Pauli came out with the perfect conclusion.
"Correct!"
"So many strange things about you. First of all, you just got here without going through the ceremony. You had almost no power compared to the other Sakka. Now, this?"
"Well, it can't be help."
I also wondered the same thing. We were drowned by our own thoughts for a moment, trying to make reasons. But it wouldn't be long, something that has been at the back of my head dispersed the peaceful thinking.
"Actually, just moments ago, I asked what DSF is but-"
"It's no use." Pauli cut me quickly.
"No one knows what it is. Even the priests who are loved by the system don't know it too." He continued.
"How long has this system been here?"
"Since the beginning of time."
I paused. That probably meant the system was millions of years old, seeing just the average human lifespan was 500 years old.

"Are you telling me not a single mind has any idea of the system's origin?"
"Hmm… I don't know the details, but this actually has been an ongoing topic around holders. It's something we shouldn't question, yet we still talked about it in private. Notice how the system says that you're not eligible for that information when you ask about it?" I nodded my head fast. "Rumor has it, there are people out there who are eligible enough for that information."
"Who?" I leaned closer, and Pauli did the same.
"We don't know for sure. But if there are people like that, we believe they must be some powerful beings reaching mythical class, surpassing even the SSS class holders."
When I heard that, I glanced at my own class on the screen,
'Explain to me all the classes.'
'Answer: There are 10 classes of holders. From the weakest to the strongest are F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, and Mythical. The class is determined by the average point of health point, mana point, physical attack, magic attack, physical resistance, and magic resistance.'
I smiled bitterly at the numbers shown on the screen.
You give me an impossible task to do. You want me to be that powerful?
I sat there, silently screaming for explanations. Even the information about the 'eligible people' was not 100% guaranteed, but a possibility is a possibility. I had to either found someone eligible or be one myself. The later sounded stupid coming from me, as if I would ever reach those numbers.
"Missy, why are you quiet suddenly?"
Bang!
Before I could give an answer, a loud noise was heard from the front door. Pauli and I stared at each other, eyes wide open. We both seemed to have a similar thought, hoping it was not someone the Palace had sent to catch me.
"Father, help us." We dropped our tensed shoulders in unison as we learned that we're safe.
Aria barged inside with 3 men and a woman. They all froze when they saw me.
"What are you doing, brother? Hurry, put him down."
"Oh, you're right."
I was too busy looking back at them that I didn't see someo-
HUHHHHHHH! What is that? I was startled and almost fell off the chair.
What I saw was definitely not a human. His skin was crimson red. His hair was ash white. Two horns were growing out from his forehead. His body was human-like, with his muscle on max. What drew me on edge was his hands and legs. They were covered with stone-like pieces, and its nails looked like steel.
'Answer: The individual master is looking at right now is an ogre, a species of monster who possesses intelligence. He shows no sign of night eater corruption.'
This is what they actually look like?
'Night eater? That thing that Aria had mentioned before?'
'Answer: Night eaters refer to hostile beings that eat both human and monsters. They come in many forms of species. In rare conditions, they could infect both humans and monsters, turning them into night eaters. They are spawned in places where hideous mana is accumulated.'
That was basically it. Aria had told me paragraph and paragraph of information, but I had mostly forgotten about them. I only remembered the part where night eaters ate humans. In return, strong humans hunted them. People who hunted night eaters were labeled as night feeders. Yes, it was the profession that Aria practiced every day. She wanted to be an official night feeder, registered in one of the holder's houses.
"We found him at the Dragon's Lake. Lucy healed his wound, but his vitality is not improving. Can you look at him?" A thug-looking man kneeled down beside the ogre. Sensing, a hand touching his stomach, the ogre whimpered in agony.
"Hohoho, who's this beautiful lady?" A shrill voice was heard from behind. A man with a small face like a fox emerged. His wide frame body filled my view, looming in front of me like a tree.
"Stop." Another man, whose face looked the youngest, voiced his annoyance. He pulled the wide man away. Only then that I had a good look at him. He was the most usual looking out of the group. He was that kind of people that appeared ordinary, the unnoticeable one. Emitting a sense of quietness in his presence.
"We're sorry. He can't hold his mouth around girls." The only female on the team bowed to me. Here it came, the cute and small female, a must have to balance the scenery. She was not a lethal gorgeous, but her features complimented each other so well. It was a face that you wouldn't grew bored.
"It's fine." I bowed back while scanning their attires. I seemed to can't look elsewhere. The 3 men were protected by dazzling amours. Meanwhile, the woman was draped by what looked like a magical robe. Their face showed an indication of fatigue.
"What's your na-" Before the foxy man finished his sentence, Pauli smacked his stomach.
The foxy man took a step backward before he murmured, "Old geezer."
"Cut it out. Someone's injured." Pauli then sat on the floor, placing his right hand on top of the ogre. Everyone was silent, waiting for whatever Pauli's doing.
"Looks like his soul is injured as well. Thankfully, it's not that bad. For the time being, let him rest. It will heal itself. Just gave him some calming dust."
"Hah…Thank goodness." Aria appeared with a blanket. I didn't even realize she went somewhere.
"He can stay here, right, father?" She asked while covering the blanket over the ogre.
"Eh? But-" Pauli stuttered. He was so not into the idea.
"We!" The thug man, out of nowhere, raised his voice loud, almost screaming. Everybody flinched simultaneously.
"We will be the ones looking after this ogre," he put on a big smile, "here."
"Huh?" Pauli and the female guest collectively voiced their confusion.
"Not bad."
"Yes! It's a good idea."
The quiet man and the fox man nodded in agreement.
"I am not cramming in this house, okay?" the girl was the only one complaining.
"See, father. Now it's going to be okay. Remember when we met sister. You said she was suspicious, and to just let her be. But look at her. She is a sweetheart. This sir ogre, we can just wait until he wakes up. If he's hostile, Brother Pascal will take care of it." Aria sprang to stand up. She was definitely enjoying the suggestion.
I blushed a little, hearing Aria calling me a sweetheart. It had been a long time since someone complimented me like that. People said females got compliments all the time. Turned out, it was true.
With a bothered face, Pauli weighed the situation. Four people presented themselves to Pauli with puppy eyes. The quiet guy was rather off the track, but he got the energy. Even the gangster-looking guy was acting all helpless. Pauli trembled upon the glistering pupils, especially Aria's. That man was weak when it came to his daughter.
"Alright. Alright. But cook your own food."
Their face got brighter, smiling and looking at each other with a 'good job, guys' expression. The fox man even clenched his fist in celebration. What was it with these people?
At that point, we were so oblivious on what kind of fate the ogre had brought with him.
