In the city of Karta, magic is punishable by death. The country of Liel, by extension, has seen it's purveyors of the occult fade into nothingness. Rilah has been in hiding for years, wandering from city to city both searching and avoiding the key to his prophecy until he ends up bleeding in her shop. Avin will have to accept help and master the magic in her veins and Rilah will have to yield to someone other than himself. The two occultist will confront their pasts to prevent a future consumed by flames.
