15 year old Avery Sanders is your typical high school students. All she worries about is boys, her best friend, failing her test,  and being chosen. Though after the Marking last week,  she tries to put it out of her mind and focus on her algebra test coming up. The only thing bugging her is her sudden sickness that came out of nowhere. Sure,  she might be sick just like a Chosen one would be,  but she has nothing to worry about,  right?  But everything changes for Avery when the Markers come back,  going completely against the rules, and Marks all the chosen one. Not only is Avery marked by a vampire but she is also marked by a werewolf,  something that has never happened before.  Now Avery is the first ever hybrid and she has no choice but to go to the Luna Dea Academy school. She can try and run but she won't get far before the collectors find her.  And if she does get away,  she won't last long.  At the school, surrounded monsters that she has only heard bad things about,  she realizes that she is one.  She tries her best to keep her head down and stay away from people but the double crescent moon makes it hard.  As she struggles to adjust and being a freak, She earns allies, enemies,  and maybe even friends. Her slow and shaky acceptance doesn't last long as Chosen students began to disappear and no one has any leads.  The students that are disappearing aren't just regular ones,  but all those that were special. And Avery is the number one special thing in the school and knows it's a matter of time before she's next.
