Since it first retrieved the dying, barely-formed island from deep within the void, The Charitable Origin had sustained itself and its prosperous kingdom for thousands of years on pure magic alone. And despite its long perseverance through any number of possible world-ending catastrophes, nothing is free from the inevitable call of death. A great rot has taken hold over its physical body, being that of a tree, and this illness has plunged the world it oversaw into an eternal winter. Seeking salvation for their god, the lord of the fairies calls forth a simple human to complete a quest that may have a chance of saving the great tree. The reward? Seeing the sun for the first time.
