[Participating in the 2024 Fall Writathon] The question of why has been a question on the mind of River ever since he was a child. To understand why things worked had led the course of his entire life, right up to the day it nearly killed him. In an experiment gone horribly wrong, River and several others inadvertently open their solar system to the greater universe, changing their world and his life forever.  Some may see this as a disaster, but River is just too busy learning about magic to care that reality was just flipped upside down.
