Ch 1 Welcome to the World

Modern-day earth as we know it has been destroyed. Records of pre-catastrophe all but lost. Only fragments remain, scattered throughout the world in decrepit ruins and dangerous areas. Thousands of years of science, history, and culture went in an instant. All due to the last great war of the world. All due to the sudden appearance of foreign energy that was named mana. Certain people were able to channel this energy into performing unimaginable feats. They could create barriers that would withstand tactical nukes, heal untreatable injuries. Soon the world forgot about the appearance of this strange phenomenon and instead learned how to use it, to shape it to their will. The world as we knew it was integrated with this foreign energy and soon technology the likes we’ve never seen sprang forth.

Robotics surged with artificial intelligence and skill that were all powered and controlled through mana. Fossil fuels were now obsolete as mana could replace all forms and uses of it. The world prospered in this newfound energy source.

But, like all new discoveries, greed began to manifest. Weapons were soon developed that defied all known logic. Augmented humans, integrating with mana-tech to become more powerful than what their original mana capacity allowed, began to surface. Weapons of mass destruction, capable to destructive feats that made nukes look like a firecracker were produced. This caused the major powers of the world to soon scramble as they attempted to procure more of the weapons. It was only when one side fired one of these weapons that we truly understood the power these new devices held.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

The deafening concussive blast spread throughout America's continent, their Whitehouse and the surround twenty miles around it now only a deep chasm. It was through this action that the third world war started. Raged over ten years the victors of reduced to complete shambles, the losers non-existent.

This is when they came. Beings of myth and legend started populating the world once more. Cyclops, Giants, monsters of Greek legends began populating the desolate earth, humanity pushed to the near brink of existence.

That is when the Hero’s came. Naming themselves after the twelve titans they were a scourge to the monsters, killing many before being able to contain their entrances to earth in places called dungeons. It is said that the dungeons were located in the largest of the cracks leading to Tartarus, allowing monsters that were slain to crawl out of hell into the world once more.

Humanity, thankful for the titans banded beneath them in an effort to preserve humanity. However, these 12 humans now deemed saviors of mankind were in fact nothing more than war tyrants. They quickly amassed the knowledge of the old world and killed those that held such knowledge in order to not be usurped by their people in the future when they realized their true intentions.

These Tyrant Titans then founded the thirteen cities, each named after one of them while the last was founded centrally between them as a meeting place. Each lorded over one while the central acted as a unified front to dissuade defecting between the twelve.

It is now, two hundred years later that humanity finds itself prospering again, safe inside their cities all for the price of their freedom. It is now that our protagonist realizes the titans he looked up to were worse than the monsters, for the monsters we incapable of anything but violence.
