Synopsis
William's stuck in a cell with routine torture carried out by a mysterious man. He finds quickly that death is no escape, but not everything is against him. His two greatest boons are the window that strengthens him through his suffering, and the hole in his room for his own corpse disposal. To escape he must go through it, and navigate the strange terrain beyond. It is not an easy task, as the place is filled with dangerous monsters, deadly traps, and inhuman creatures of dubious motivations. Will he find a way out, or will he lose himself to insanity?

There's torture in this novel, and whilst his body does grow stronger of the torture, I do not in any way believe that torture is beneficial under any circumstances. I hope to depict the irreversible damage it does to his psyche.
