Used as a tool to end the war, Primrose, a water elemental, is sent to the live in the treacherous peaks of Cragg, the home of stone elementals. As her new husband, Ares, begins to succumb to arcane madness, Kur, his father, steadily makes him sicker, and with Primrose kept in the dark, only Horus, the eldest brother and Lord of the Mountains, can save him.
