...

The castle's defense battle was over, and Roland was confined to hsi bedroom.

Encountering the continuously refreshing achievements, there was always a surreal feeling.

A fierce mock battle resulted in numerous achievements being unlocked.

He got it. According to the system's rules, rewards come with more action. Even failure comes with a consolation prize, with all sorts of bizarre achievements popping up.

The jumble of achievements amounted to two thousand divine gold coins, and his basic stamina attribute had increased to 7.

He was a divinely chosen mage, certainly not one to practice both sorcery and melee fighting, but who would not want an attribute increase?

With increased basic stamina, he could clearly feel the flow of energy within.

Confined to the bedroom for a day and a half, he remained calm, only slightly puzzled. Surely, Egilina and the StarGazerss...still no decision on how to handle the situation?

What about Melannis and the maids now?

Julie and Lana couldn't have gone far, could they?

His only concern was whether killing the special shop's maid would infuriate the gods.

He felt it wouldn't, but couldn't be sure. After all, it’s hard to predict a God.

He tried to contact the system.

Soon, a line of text appeared before him.

'The great gods are busier than you can imagine.'

Though not explicitly stated, that made sense.

Dispelling his worries, his thoughts drifted afar, thinking of the other two girls. How are Melannis and Granni now?

Melannis, after all, was a knight, probably confined to another bedroom, she should be fine.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

What about Granni?

Having nearly killed Egilina, she might be...

Though the possibility was slim, Roland was still worried. He walked to the door, knocked forcefully, and said in a deep voice, "Guard, please tell Miss Xaki, I wish to see her!"

He didn't want to wait any longer.

They couldn't confine him for a lifetime, after all, that's not how the script goes.

While Roland was worried about Granni, the barbarian maid had already followed Egilina to a secret room.

Seeing the various torture devices and the executioner's axe on the wall of the secret room, she realized.

Egilina planned to give her a warrior's death.

Though painful, it was still dignified.

Drinking poison was not a barbarian's way to die; dying by the blade was the destiny of a barbarian.

Just as she was about to inquire about her execution, Egilina's voice, cold as ice, shouted from outside:

"Bring them up!"

Granni turned her head towards the door as several execution squad soldiers escorted two disheveled girls in.

"Julie, Lana! You were caught as well!"

She didn't know that these two had fled during the duel between Roland and Egilina, thinking they were captured within the castle.

She was anxious, carefully pleading for mercy for them.

"Miss Xaki, they usually take care of cleaning and cooking, they didn't participate in the war, and Lord Minhausen likes them. Please spare them."

Egilina's eyes held a playful look, "You're not worried about your own fate, yet caring for others?"

Granni chuckled, naively saying:

"Worrying about my fate was useless. We served the master together, we got along well, of course, I don't want them to be in trouble."

"You're kind-hearted. Do you know what they did?" Egilina huffed.

Granni looked confused; she wouldn't know, she was on the battlefield that day.

Egilina, expressionless, said, "They betrayed their master. Lana fled during the battle, and Julie simply ran away with the master's jewelry."

"When Roland was fighting, they were just escaping the territory. These are his beloved, good maids."

Granni was stunned, staring at Lana and Julie, her eyes reddening, and after a long time, she asked tremulously:

"Julie, Lana, was what she said true?"

Julie remained calm and silent. Lana, with a face full of shame, nodded.

Granni, as if struck by a heavy hammer, stepped back several steps until she hit the back wall with a 'thud' before stopping.

"Why? Why would you do this! Hasn’t Roland been kind and good enough to you?"

"Why you need so many reasons? Lord Galaxia lost, who knows what would happen to him, I didn't want to sink with a sinking ship. I signed a work contract, not a slavery contract!"

Julie said confidently.

Her face showed no shame, whereas Lana was stammered, embarrassed, unable to speak.

Egilina ignored them, turning to Granni.

"You loyal warrior, how do you think they should be dealt with?"

Granni's eyes were red, staring at them, and said sternly, "Without Lord Galaxia, you wouldn’t live in a beautiful castle, enjoy lavish dinners!"

"He respected your requests, and this was how you repay him?"

Lana mumbled, pleading for mercy, "Granni, I was wrong. If you plead for me in front of the master, I'll spend my life atoning!"

Julie didn't plead for mercy, only scoffed. "Lana, don't beg for mercy. She dares not act, even Roland wouldn't dare. We've done wrong, but it's up to others to deal with us, not for a mere baron to point fingers."

Egilina's expression changed slightly. If Julie wasn't mad, then there must be someone behind her.

What power could make her so arrogant? Egilina was emotionally stirred but remained outwardly calm, her eyebrows slightly furrowed. "Is that so? A mere baron dares not touch you, what about the StarGazers?"

"Not even the StarGazers! We are..."

Before she could finish, the furious Granni had let out a wild battle cry, causing everyone to cover their ears, dizzy and disoriented.

In this moment of chaos, she leaped onto the table, grabbed the battle axe hanging on the wall, and swung it down with a roar. The executioner's axe spun like a windmill.

Lana's head hit the ground, and Julie was split in half at the waist.

"You're offending the great Ca..."

Julie let out a shrill scream, struggling to utter a few words, but Granni didn't bother to listen. She stepped forward with another axe blow and directly decapitated Julie.

After beheading both, she proudly turned back, her eyes full of joy, to look at Egilina, who was stunned.

"Miss Xaki, I executed the traitors on behalf of Lord Galaxia, he will surely praise me, won't he?"

"Miss Xaki, are you sick? You don’t look good."
